Interesting. I worked in book production (mainly limited editions) for a while, on the side. Met some great authors, went to the Frankfurt Book Fair regularly, saw what's happening on the business side behind closed doors ... and got discouraged. Dropped out after about 7 years of that. But that's another story. Cheers!

Things like that can happen. I have to admit that the news threw me quite a bit. I didn't even think about this possibly being just a rumour. No matter what, I don't really think any harm was done, and now, instead of walking around with my face all contorted, I'm throwing his stuff on my stereo with a big smile on my face. If I was Elvin, I wouldn't be all that depressed about a rumour like that. The reactions here just show how much we appreciate his contributions to jazz, his style, his positive nature and him being around. I've never met the man, but I just love him. Cheers!

Since I started looking for this set, I've stumbled across a (German) review by someone I have relied on again and again with good results, and he wrote that on four of the discs, the sound is rather poor. In the review he writes, that the drums often sound like someone was drumming on "phone books". Flat. Dead. Can someone verify that?

I wouldn't mind having a cheaper used copy. Cheers!
