How many posters from 2003 are still here on the board?
Aggie87 replied to ghost of miles's topic in Forums Discussion
I remember couw and always enjoyed his posts, he is missed. I don't post here as ofter as I used to, like many in this thread. Joined on March 10, 2003. And I'll always have an appreciation for what this board has been, what countless members have taught me over the years, and the enjoyment we used to have while live chatting (while listening to the same album at 20 different locations around the world and talking about the music - and cussing each other out). Since 2003 I've lived in Germany, Texas, New Jersey, and now Arizona. And during that time I've had the opportunity to meet many board members, for which I'm also thankful: Jazzbo, Shawn, Big Al, Rooster Ties, Vajerzy, RDK, Sidewinder, Soulstream, David Weiss, BFrank, Pete C, noj, and most recently Free For All. -
Rest in Peace, Kenny.

I'm liking this instrumental album. It's a grower. -

Tedeschi Trucks/Leon Russell - Mad Dogs and Englishmen Revisited This is cool - they brought in all of the remaining members of Joe Cocker's Mad Dogs band, included RIta Coolidge and Dave Mason. And newer folks like Chris Robinson and Warren Haynes. Fun album. -

What live music are you going to see tonight?

Thanks for sharing - I jumped around that video a bit and liked what I heard. I think they're fascinating and have had an interesting evolution in their sound from the early albums to the more recent stuff. -

Man, I'm envious! Let us know how it was! -
Here in the Sonoran desert, mostly the frequent and very healthy looking coyotes and bobcats. Occasionally mountain lions as well, though they're around less since they tend to be solitary and cover a greater territory, and I haven't caught one on camera yet. Also hawks and owls, which we also see regularly. And rattlesnakes eat the younger rabbits as well. Rabbits and Gambel's Quail are pretty much at the bottom of the food chain. Critters in my yard over the past couple days - Cottontail rabbits (many of them), Gila woodpeckers who think they are hummingbirds, and frequent mule deer.

I like that one a lot (which I'm sure is shocking, ha). If you haven't already, you might also check out "Playing in a Room with People", which is a Jansen Barbieri Karn live release, also featuring Steven Wilson, and also Theo Travis. -

I am not a deep diver with the Moodys, but like a lot of what I am familar with. Was sad to hear of John's passing. One thing that's interesting is his daughter is married to Jon Davison, who has been the lead singer of Yes since 2012. Jon played and toured with Lodge occasionally, as well. During Lodge's post MB solo touring years, his guitar player has been a guy named Duffy King since about 2009 or so. Duffy's from Detroit but is a snowbird and lives here locally in my area during the winter months. I've seen him a few times at local bars, just him and his guitar, and he's friendly. Next time I see him I'll be giving him my condolences.

It's Gloomy and Doomy and Just Goes On and On

I knew Gordon's song Carefree Highway for many years, but had no clue it was an actual road. When we moved to Arizona a couple of years ago, we ended up less than a mile or so from that road. Apparently Gordon was touring and was driving between Flagstaff and Phoenix and saw the exit for that road, and liked the name enough to write a song. Now every time we drive down that road, one of us has to sing the chorus. -

I keep telling myself I'm going to delve into the Dream Syndicate and Steve Wynn at some point, yet all I've done is listen to the Baseball Project. I need to rectify that. np: Speed of the Stars -
The only cities in the U.S. that are larger than Toronto are Los Angeles and New York. I'd say it's not a small market at all. Unless you're talking U.S. eyeballs only, in which case it's probably got the smallest U.S. market.

She must've been a wonderful person, Lon. It's clear in your words and memories of her. I'm glad you've found some level of happiness, though I'm sure she will always be in your heart as well.

For me it's an enjoyable listen, albeit one I don't spin that often. . And it sounds like they were having fun as well. Rundgren seems like he'd be a livelier front man than what the Cars were used to. I would've gone to see them had they come around where I was living at the time.
