Unless of course the man who turned States evidence and is currectly a free man lied. If that is the case, then he must make peace with his maker by asking him why the state would take his life based on the lies of another man. This is why I am against the death penalty. Innocent people have and do get executed...often. At least 23 people since 1900 have been executed and later found innocent in the United States - this according to Michael Radelet and Hugo Adam Bedau's book Inspite of Innocence. And according to the Equal Justice Project, 16 more innocent people have been executed in the United States. And this is just those that can be proved. Whatever the actual number, innocent people are being put to death on a somewhat regular basis. Why don't the "Culture of Life" Christian Republicans say anything about this? I believe it's because they're being manipulated and they don't even know it. This isn't a crowd known for "independant thinking" in the first place, hence easily manipulated..

I'll keep mine up. I always liked that picture of me. -
I was going to bid on a russian reissue CD of the George Harrison records "Dark Horse" & "33 & 1/3". I've seen a number of this type of reissues on ebay. I think they're Russian. Does anybody know about these? Are they good sounding reissues? What are they? What's up?

Beautiful and inspiring story. Thank you. ← Wow, this brought tears to my eyes. My thoughts are with you Paul - and your friend. Life is a very fleeting thing. We lose sight of that sometimes. Stay strong. -
Oh F***!!!! Hurricane Wilma has 175 MPH winds
Johnny E replied to BERIGAN's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
There is no debate that Global Warming is effected by man made pollutates...at least not among serious scientists anyway. Maybe in Washington they debate this, but then lobbists and campaign money will make politicians do the darndest things. -

The the HELL...?!! I heard about this on the radio this morning; at first I thought they were talking about a different storm. Holy crap. But remember, folks, it has NOTHING TO DO with global warming! ← That's what Vibes says anyway...and he has graphs too! Besides, the President doesn't think Global Warming really exist anyway. I think we need more research into the matter. -
I need advice from you Kerouac fans---
Johnny E replied to frank m's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
Yes, but which one of those novels did Kerouac have a in-grown toe nail while writing chapters 4, 5 and 13? -
I told you, THE YANKEES WILL NEVER WIN ANOTHER WORLD SERIES UNTIL THEY GET RID OF A-ROD. I'm not fuckin' around, it's the truth. You look at his numbers and it makes you drool, but once you've gone through a couple seasons with him on your team you start to realize that he's not a gamer. I'd take Jeter over A-rod in nano second. The mother of Yankee star Alex Rodriguez is defending her son's poor playoff performance, saying the slugger was secretly grieving over the death of his uncle. -- New York Daily News

He'd still be managing the M's right now if the front office weren't a bunch of fuckin schmucks. What other team would let go Randy Johnson, Ken Griffey, Alex Rodriguez, Freddy Garcia, and Lou Pinella all within a 5 year period. We could have been a dynasty had they pulled the trigger on a few moves at the deadline instead of moving franchise player after franchise player. They got a big town revenue stream and a small town mentality. Grrrr Go Sox...whatever

You're probably right....I still would never vote for him though.

OK, ok, I been dissing on the White Sox up until now but I guess I gots to shut my hole and cheer for em now. 80-something years is a long time - And that four complete games in a row thing was pretty impressive (Even if the Angels were the weakest team to make the playoffs imo). Besides, who really cares about the Astros other than Hustonites anyway?

I'd just like to hijack this thread "briefly" to talk about Carrot Top.

Why not sign Griffey and Buhner and complete the transformation?

With his performance in the playoffs I'd suspect our chances of landing him just got better. The Yankees might not want him back.

And he hits into double plays in the ninth inning of deciding games with no body out and down two runs. LOSER

Philly Named "Next Great City" By Nat'l Geographic
Johnny E replied to Ron S's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
Ahhh, so you missed the good ol' Rizzo days. And you arrived right when the city government was dropping bombs on inner city row homes, burning down entire neighborhoods, and shooting people who were trying to escape. Ahhh, the sweet SWEET memories I have of Philadelphia. The Phillies won it all in 1980 but we were so poor they turned off our electricity the night they won it all. What a beautiful thing to have happen to a 10 year old baseball fanatic. It's a nice place to visit (my mom still lives there), but I will never EVER live there again. To much racism, pollution, corruption and poverty. I'm raising my son where the air is clean, the schools are good and the people are nice to one another, thank you very much. -
