  1. As I've done the past 5 years in a row, I predict the Mariners to win it all this year. The good thing about spring training is all the teams are tied for first place.

  3. Thanks everybody. I love this place...it's my one try addiction. I tried staying away for a little while a few months ago and I started getting the shakes. Cheers!
  4. Happy birthday Al....you know what that means doncha? I must be a year older too!
  5. Peacemeal is one of Eddie Gomez/Jack DeJohnette's best recordings together. Man they are a fucking powerhouse together! A big Big second for Peacemeal. This may be a stupid question, but how many recordings did they make together? There's a Bill Evans album, right? What else? Guy Not stupid at all. That Evans record was 'Bill Evans at the Montreux Jazz Festival' - 1968. smokin'!!! He was also on The DeJohnette Complex as was already mentioned and 'Works' which is what akanalog was refering too I believe. They also appeared together on DeJohnette's 'New Directions in Europe'. There is another album with jack playing piano called "The Jack DeJohnette Piano Album" aptly enough, which Gomez plays on. There's also a couple tunes on the Bill Evans box called "The Secret Sessions". I can't think of any others that haven't been mentioned.
  6. Yes, welcome Rep. I'll give a listen for sure. Also, please send me a PM and let me know the address you'd like me to send the Reptet CD's to.

  8. I’m not real good at describing my own music, but it's definitely 'in the tradition' as they say - although we do incorporate elements of free improvisation, rock, reggae, and modern classical in there as well. I think this new recording is going to take a lot of people by surprise. It's much more aggressive than the first CD which was mellow and more traditional. Anyway, yeah - check out the web site as Chuck suggested.
  9. Hi all, I was wondering who here has their own radio show. I already know about David & Lazaro's shows...is there anyone else? Reptet is poised to release our next CD and I'd like to send all the DJ's a copy for possible air play. Thanks -john
  10. Or Eric Dolphy!!! Oh no, he didn't drink....NEVERMIND.

  12. Why take the chance? Go down to the liquor store, take 15 bucks out your wallet, and get a new bottle of Canadian Club you cheapskate.
  13. I think this picture captures her spirit better.
  14. There were others that started out non-political and got moved because of where the conversation led. But like I said, not a conclusion, just an observation is all.
  15. Why do you consider the political forum a "hidden hole?" It's the second most trafficked forum on this site. Because if you're not a member you can't see it.
  16. Funny how a thread on 'Broke Back Mountain' that strayed into political territory got sucked into the hidden hole faster than Dick Cheney's trigger finger, yet a thread on sex offenders which strays into politics (by the board administrater himself no less) stays safe as a bug in a rug. No conclusion, just an observation.
  17. 'Negro Speed King'? I thought that was Rick James!

  20. And are there any in Seattle?
  21. Yeah well, even the great Ted Williams only got a hit 35% of the time. He's still the best hitter in the history of baseball. Pfffegh. Shoeless Joe Jackson. I don't mean to show disrespect to the deceased by hijacking Mr. Penn's thread, but surely you don't mean to say that Shoeless Joe was a better hitter than Ted Williams do you Moose? Shoeless Joe hit over .400 only once, in 1911 - an era where that feat wasn't that uncommon. Ted Williams played in the modern era and no one has hit .400 since he did in 41'. Shoeless Joe played 13 seasons with 54 HR's - Teddy ended his career with 521! And he had the prime of his career taken away by WWII. Career OBP for Williams .482 compared to .423 for Jackson. Come on Moose, please tell me you're yankin' my chain.
