  2. I just saw that. And it appears that the Sox are serious about dealing Arroyo for Reed. If those two deals go down Seattle might have a good little ballclub on their hands next year. http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/baseball/252470_mari17.html

  4. We better watch it before this thread gets whisked away into the hidden hole.
  5. Please don't. I'm not a Hillary fan. How about you simply vote Democrat in the 06' midterms?
  6. Clement is more expensive, Arroyo is better, IMO. Hopefully it doesn't come to that anyway. Let's hope it DOES come to that.
  7. Johnny, are you ready for WS in Seattle now that Carl Everett has signed on? Seriously, he should help, and as .Mariners general manager Bill Bavasi said Everett "would break up any monotony or boredom." I don't care what he says or does as long as he knocks in 100+ RBI, hit 25+ HRs, and has an AVG over .280.
  8. Who's a better pitcher, Clement or Arroyo? If the the Sox don't re-sign Damon, the M's will be getting one of these guys in exchange for Jeremy Reed..
  9. Some that I don't think were mentioned: Curtis Mayfield David Bowie Elton John/Bernie Maupin Jerry Garcia/Robert Hunter And especially Smokey Robinson!
  10. Damn, maybe I should get one of these XM radios. It's blowing up!
  11. Better watch it Sal, this topic is just about to get sucked into the Hidden Hole. Better not go into any more details regarding the plot...So how are the box office receipts? Is it a commercial success?

Sunny Murray has a number of records out as leader (3 on BYG alone). Also, I'm wondering about the money Stollman made by licensing the ESP stuff out. Some of the Japanese reissues were not legitimate, but I'm almost sure the German ones (ZYX) were. When I've talked to James Zitro, Sonny Simmons and Bert Wilson they've all said they have never seen one cent in reissue revenue. Of course, I have yet to read that interview with Stollman that Д.Д. posted, so if these issues got addressed in there, please excuse me.
  14. Are we sure about that? That's just what I was thinking. Welcome to the board (and to seattle) Troy.
  15. It doesn't hurt to have money falling out your ass either.
  16. Furcal to the Dodgers, LaDuca to the Mets...and were only a few hours into the winter meetings.
  17. I always knew those two cups of coffee in the morning were doing me good somehow... Study finds coffee reduces liver risk Sun Dec 4, 2005 WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Coffee and tea may reduce the risk of serious liver damage in people who drink alcohol too much, are overweight, or have too much iron in the blood, researchers reported on Sunday. The study of nearly 10,000 people showed that those who drank more than two cups of coffee or tea per day developed chronic liver disease at half the rate of those who drank less than one cup each day. The study, conducted by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases and Social & Scientific Systems, Inc., found that coffee provided no protection to people at risk of liver disease from other causes, such as viral infections. "While it is too soon to encourage patients to increase their coffee and tea intake, the findings of our study potentially offer people at high-risk for developing chronic liver disease a practical way to decrease that risk," said Dr. Constance Ruhl, who helped lead the study. "In addition, we hope the findings will offer guidance to researchers who are studying liver disease progression." Writing in the American Gastroenterological Association journal Gastroenterology, Ruhl and colleagues said caffeine seemed to hold the key. They analyzed the records of 9,849 participants in a government survey whose coffee and tea intake was evaluated and who were followed for about 19 years.
  18. A-Rod would be a sub-par center fielder. He's not fast enough. I think they'd be better off with Bernie there for another year.
  19. Cleveland. Thanks Chuck, that's real helpful. Online wise guy!
  20. Where's the cheapest place to buy these suckers now?
  21. I hear ya' brotha. Football blows.
  22. Might be forgivable, given that the list was complied in 1995 and the disc was released in 1997. It may be news to you but before music was available on CDs (and probably before you came to this world!), there were those objects called vinyls. Wonderful objects! My vinyl copy of 'The New Vilage on the Left' dates from 1977. I have loved this album since that time! Hmm... well... I can only redress my shameful mistake by ordering The New Vilage on the Left immidiately (never heard (of) Melis).
