  1. Mozart - Symphony No.31 and No.36 - Leitner & Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra
  2. A very good album. It includes, along with the 2 very fine trombone players, the marvelous George Tucker on bass, and Al Harewood on drums. The star of this album , for me, is the piano player Sonny Clark. His solos on almost every track brings a huge smile to my face. Along with Horace Silver and Kenny Drew, Sonny Clark brings a deep seated blues feeling to his playing that makes him one of my favorites.
  3. Schubert - Piano Trio No.1, Op.99, D.898 Spohr - Nonet, Op.31
  4. Trying to keep up with the many new releases can easily result in leaving on the shelf the music one has had for many decades. To that end, I have been making an attempt to go back to the CDs I especially like that I have not listened to for a long long time. One thing I discovered is that I actually much prefer my albums from the earlier periods (50', 60's,70's), to a large percentage of the newer releases I hear. Of course, there are exceptions.
  5. Dvorak - String Quartets No.5 and No.7 - Zemlinsky Quartet
  6. These are my favorite Gary Bartz albums.
