These days I am reading Stuart Nicholson's bio, "Ella Fitzgerald: A Biography Of The First Lady Of Jazz" (Da Capo Press, 1995) and revisiting some of her best recordings, spanning most of her career, starting back in her days with the Chick Webb Orchestra. You gotta love Ella!
