  1. See my previous posts. I don´t want them to choose Madrid. Paris is a much better place, of course.
  2. And the winner is..... (three hours to go)
  3. For those who can read Spanish, here´s my review of "Eldar" for the Spanish jazz website Tomajazz: http://www.tomajazz.com/discos/ Please, be permissive (with the review), as it´s the first one that I´ve ever wrote.
  4. List updated on first post.
  5. A few purchases in the last couple of weeks (from ebay and several on-line stores): -Duke Ellington - Happy birthday, Duke! (5 CD set on Laserlight) -Sonny Stitt - Loose walk (Philology, CD with unreleased live stuff) -Buck Clayton - Legendary jam sessions master takes (Lonehill Jazz, · CD set, a good "sucedáneo" for the $$$$$ OOP Mosaic) -Tete Montoliu - Piano for Nuria (Saba, Japanese CD edition, pricey, very pricey) -Tete Montoliu - Carmina (Jazzizz LP, quite cheap on ebay) -Tete Montoliu - Presenta Elia Fleta (Fresh Sound CD, OOP I think) -Tete Montoliu - That´s all (Steeplechase CD, almost bargain price) -Jimmy Hamilton rediscovered at the Bucaneer (incredible bargain CD on ebay!!!)
  6. Very sad news. Some JiP discs will be on my stereo today. Small tribute to a great bass player. RIP
  7. I agree that the earlier sides are probably his best stuff, but I strongly recommend this one:
  8. July 1, 1996: -Part of Tete Montoliu & Mayte Martin´s concerts of July 1 to 3 in the Festival Grec 96 (Convent De San Agustí, Barcelona) were issued as K-Industria Cultural CD: K 007 CD - Free Boleros (1996). Horacio Fumero on bass and Nan Mercader on percussion.
  9. Ken Vandermark´s website
  10. BTW: I still haven´t got this one, but have been spinning Eric Alexander & Grant Stewart´s disc "Reeds and Deeds - Wailin´ (Criss Cross, 2005)" lately, and saw them live last weekend, with a different group (w. organ and drums) and they´re simply smooooking!!!
  11. AMG review:
  12. Harold Mabern Piano John Webber Bass Joe Farnsworth Drums
  13. Shakira gave a concert to promote the support of LatinAmerican countries to Madrid´s bid! Go Paris and/or London, GO!
