  1. Platini's arrest is sad news. He was one of the idols of my childhood. Me and my grandfather watched him play West Germany in the 1982 Mundial, a year later my grandfather was gone.
  2. Yep, it’s good stuff. The TECNU scrub is also great. I’m on massive dose if prednisone too. Live and learn... My itch is back!!!!🥵
  3. Watched Chile beat Japan 4:0, in the company of of my Chilean friends, along with much food and red wine. The match didn't start well for Chile, but at the end Japan's "youth and inexperience" took the better of them. I don't know the specs, but by the looks of them, the only 180 cm.+ player on their team may have been the goalie. They dominated the first 30 minutes with their incredible speed. The Chilean wing-backs just couldn't cope. Japan had 3 real clear goal-scoring chances, but they lacked a finisher. In other news, Platini was arrested.
  4. Lucky man. I just got hit for the first time in my life. It is AWFUL.... Poison ivy rash and blisters all over my legs, arms, side of torso. In the corner of my yard, of all places. It itches like a motherfucker.
  5. This is my second Copa. I've watched several Centanario matches when they came here 3 years ago...saw Messi 2x, watched him miss the penalty in the Final. Copa is a LOT of fun, there is a lot of rough play though. There are rivalries there that are way more intense than the UEFA. I'lll be watching Chile-Japan tonight. Chile is all pumped to go, especially since Arg is blowing it. Japan and Quatar are the invited guest-teams this year. Saw yours when I posted already. Yeah, they invite one or two teams from elsewhere, to beat on, like the USA and Mexico...
  6. When the Colombian defender got a hold of the ball, he passed it to his GK, who grabbed it, which is a no-no in the box.
  7. Well, I thought Messi did everything he could, played with guts, was taken down numerous times, including a couple of very rough tackles (Quadrado). He did miss one good chance, but it wasn't a 100% scoring chance. He is cursed with the National team. See if you agree with me... at the 3:40 mark on the video there should be a penalty imho.
  8. Yes, I watched it, the whole thing. What is your opinion.
  9. Pobre Messi... If he were to became a Spanish citizen when he was 18, his life would've been a infinitely better.
  10. I won't watch, but I'll be happy if Chile makes the USWNT collectively cry.
  11. Why shouldn’t I be able to compare? Naturally, men have more physical strength, endurance, are faster, generally taller, etc, everything that for me translates into a much more exciting game. As far as the team sports, I do enjoy watching women’s volleyball.
  12. Not to stir the shit in the pot...just comparing men's soccer to women's, and finding lack of interest on my part to watch women's matches.
  13. I’ve tried to enjoy women’s soccer...I just can’t.
  14. Hazard is going to Real. This is about to be the best current soccer news for me. Real needs to get back into the game! https://www.goal.com/en-us/news/hazard-set-to-complete-real-madrid-move-as-chelsea-accept/136esnbli75ur1l8khdyz0vxq6

  16. Yeah, it wasn’t unlike any other Liverpool-Tottenham match...the Reds won.
  17. Just finished watching this rather good new Western titled HOSTILES. It's on Netflix, check it out.
  18. Apparently Guardiola is going to Juventus...
  19. Inspired by this thread, I bought these two sheets today. Will use the stamps the way they were intended.
  20. Don't have any of the jazz stamps, but like you, used to collect when I was growing up. Stamp collecting was a window to the world. Now it's probably just another manifestation of OCD. And yes, I still have my stamps. My topic was world flora and fauna.
  21. Photo was taken, film developed [looks like 35 mm], photograph printed, then signed by all band members...it means that all of it was done fairly quickly, depending on how long the band was around to sign the photo. The ceiling and walls on the photo suggest a cellar-type establishment. In any case, it's not the Theatre des Champs-Elysees or Olympia.
  22. Someone I know had his wife induced to give birth on the same day he had his own birthday... ...They've been saving on cakes and candles ever since. Have a good one, Chuck!!! And I hope to say it next year too!
  23. Not on ebay. It was a lot in an auction. The way it was packaged indicated that it was not a unique master tape, but rather a reel to reel intended for distribution. BTW, this concert was commercially released on cd...on Blue Note. https://www.discogs.com/Duke-Ellington-1969-All-Star-White-House-Tribute/release/2498164
  24. I can’t find any information on this book, like the isbn no., or even an author. Still waiting for my copy to be dispatched.
  25. An original mono reel-to-reel tape of this concert was recently in one of the on-line auctions. I decided not to bid. It was released by the White House Press Office, or a similarly-named entity.
