  1. I've got quite a few of those. But I don't think so - basically, that other material is good (or you wouldn't have two or more copies, would you?). I have quite a lot of LPs that I keep for only one side, because the other side is, to use a technical term, shitty. But if we're talkking about items we keep for only one track, I can't think of any of those LPs that qualify. However, I've got a few that I only bought because so and so played on one or two tracks (sometimes not even terribly audibly) and I think these qualify, so I'll list them. Bruce Fisher - Red hot - Mercury (Charles Earland is on two tracks of this, but it's rubbish all the way through from what I can remember) Roy Nathanson - Fire at Keaton's Bar & Grill - 6 Degrees (Earland is on a couple of these tracks, too) Saka Acquaye - Gold Coast Saturday night - Elektra (Earland on tenor sax) Case - Personal conversation - Def Soul (Mel Sparks is on one track) Bobbi Humphrey - City beat - Malaco Jazz (Gloria Coleman on one track) Various Artists - Kairo: songs of the Gambia - Kerewan Sounds (one track is by a friend, Sambou Susso, who is a great singer) MG
  2. Times like these are great to familiarize myself with the great records I already have, rather than constantly dragging new things into the house. So do I, listening my existing collection. If I consider my age and the free time I have for listening music, I probably will never listen to any of my records more then a dozen of times. Look forward to your retirement, young sir. Frees up a LOT of time for listening. The recently acquired LP I've been enjoying most is John Wright - Makin' out - Prestige Didn't think I'd find a pic of this, but here 'tis ('Course, I've got a bunch from Dan Gould on the way, so I may post a few more here soon ) MG
  3. Wasn't Slim in some western movies or western TV series, as well as everything else? I mean as a straight actor, not a musician/singer. MG
  4. The only trouble is that people might think it is a rip-roaring collection of British comedy classics not the highly serious and elevated fine sampler of creative jazz that it is ! No more than the HighNote compilations would make you think that they're soundtracks to porno movies. Is that sleeve the right size to print out and put into a jewel case? MG
  5. "to whomever" You're slipping, chewy. MG
  6. Late last night Fats Theus - Black out - CTI (green label) John Wright - Makin' out - Prestige (yellow label DG) MG
  7. Roland Alphonso - Roll on - Wackie's Shirley Scott & Clark Terry - Soul duo - Impulse (promo) MG
  8. A remarkably ugly cover---hey, but at least it's in stereo! I think I used to have it. Isn't it one of the Ella Gershwin volumes? MG
  9. There's quite a bit on Crawford in this guitar thread. http://www.organissimo.org/forum/index.php...=classic+guitar MG
