  7. Ya wanna feel happy? Buy SPAM!
  8. I enjoyed myself, last weekend, down Mexico way.
  9. How bad can it be? Even fish will eat SPAM. I love SPAM!
  10. Everything must be standardized in post-modren, corporate America. Alas, the official template for a Can o' SPAM.
  11. Dinner at my Mom's house tonight. Of course, everybody is invited.
  12. Got SPAMwich?
  13. The site hasn't been updated for quite a while - the Dave Liebman and Dizzy Reece Selects are still listed under "Upcoming Releases"... I wonder if the Reece and Liebman Selects, being still shown in the Upcoming Releases section, have anything to do with whether the Last Chance section has been updated or not? I'm not trying to argue the issue, just wondering. I've seen Mosaic re-add an item to the Last Chance section, that was previously Out Of Print. It was explained to me that Mosaic might do this if an OOP item is returned to Mosaic. My point -- I've seen OOP items re-added to Last Chance without affecting Upcoming Releases.
  14. Today is the end of the month. Tristano/Konitz/Marsh Mosaic = still 'holding' on the Mosaic site.
  15. I'm a witness to this. I've seen, personally, the cracked Larry Young disks. I didn't know how to respond till Soulstation1 let me know these disks were 'copies' and he had the originals stored safely at home. Whew!
  16. I was really enjoying Mr. LaFaro's playing last night. Here is another picture of Scott:
  17. I was listening to the Bill Evans/Scott LaFaro Vanguard sessions this evening. I was enjoying listening to Scott LaFaro as much as to Bill Evans. I found some LaFaro pictures on the internet. And, was reminded how young he was. With all that is discussed about Scott LaFaro, it seems odd that the oldest age he reached was 25 years. I wonder what another 10 or 20 years of experience would have brought to his playing?
  18. Joe G: Damn, buddy. You is gettin' old.
  19. I've been purchasing several of the Fantasy K2s in recent weeks. From what I've noticed, all (or most) of them say they are limited to 10,000 copies. Considering that some of the K2 titles have been around for a few years. Considering their wide distribution in many major retail stores. And, that certain of the K2 releases are major jazz names (Bill Evans, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk). I wonder how well the K2s sell? Have any of the K2 reissues actually gone out of print? Does the 'limit of 10,000' really mean anything?
  20. ss1: This was on Mt. Lemmon, Tucson, Arizona? >link<
  21. Here, have one of these, on me...
  22. I know there is a Tal Farlow Mosaic on its way. To add to this discussion, what makes Tal Farlow unique?
  23. I'm still trying to decide which headphones I want to purchase. I had my mind/heart set on the Sennheiser 650s. However, I've read so many reviews saying the 650s are dark. Does dark mean muffled? Does dark mean high frequencies that will sound dull? As a frequent poster on this board, DrJ's many comments go a long way with me. I thought I'd decided, for certain, that I wanted the Sennheiser 650s. Then I re-read this thread, and found another thread posted here. The Sony's win here too. I wonder if, perhaps, Sony is the way to go? I like crisp high-frequencies and natural sounding bass. The use of the word dark to describe the Sennheiser 650s is starting to scare me away from the product.
  24. People watch this stuff? Televison = snore city
