  4. Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli was an verified Beethoven and Debussy expert therefore the excellent performances from 1982 don`t come as an surprise .... but the true jewel in the crown here is his performance of Ravel`s "Gaspard De La Nuit", which is excuted no less than perfectly ....

  13. Shura Cherkassky was a master and often at his very best in live settings .... at this occasion he finds his way through a subtle Schubert Sonata D 959 and an iridescent Schuman Carnaval Op. 9 .... belongs definitely to the highlights of the BBC-Legends series ....
