  7. I'm still finding holes I didn't know I had. Recently found Hal McKusick - Jazz workshop (can't put my finger on what it is that makes this different from so much other w.coast that I listen to once and then file in the basement, but this has been getting a spin a couple times a week for quite a while) In a batch of vinyl from Chuck Leo Smilth - Spirit Catcher God, what a beautiful album. As I said before, more holes than time and money, but for me that's the fun of it. Bill

Some sides I find my self pulling out on a fairly regular basis would be: The Jimmy Giuffre Clarinet – good god I love this album Collaboration West – Giuffre, Manne, Rodgers, T.Charles The Three & The Two - Shelly Manne (w/ Giuffre and Rodgers) The Gerry Mulligan Quartet – What is there to say?

  23. You gotta get some Mingus in your Soul ~ he was the single biggest influence really early on, and took me to some of my favorite places. Ah Um and Pithecanthropus Erectus being great place to start. Bill edit to add: "Mingus" on Candid, need to have some Dolphy in there. BB
