Thanks for the info. I already have Tenuki's Night Out, as much as I like it, it doesn't have the same attraction for me that the small group stuff does. I will look for those Concord sides and Tenor Gladness with Mr. Marsh sounds particularly interesting.

I recently picked up Lew Tabackin Trio ~ Black and Tan Fantasy. Lew on tenor for 5 tracks and flute for 2 John Heard on bass Billy Higgins on drums I just can't seem to get enough of this one, especially Lew on tenor. The jacket notes describe his tenor playing as “wild and woolly”, which I would say sums it up nicely. Are all his small group albums this good? It seems like he usually plays both flute & tenor, which of his other sides are heavy on the tenor tracks? Thanks in advance, Bill

For what ever reason most of the Shorty Roger's records I have get a spin or two and then end up getting sent to the basement when I need to make room. "wherever the five winds blow" would be the one I return to the most. Solid laid back performances from the whole gang (Rogers, Giuffre, Levy, Pena and Bunker).

Or how about Bob's?
