I kept listening to all his new releases right to the end. Some tracks I loved, others not so much but he was always interesting. I ended up with a lot of compilations of my favourites. There should be a huge amount of unreleased material sitting in his vault , enough for several new albums I'd say. I wasn't aware of the dancing/pain issue. It depends on his level of fitness. I'm 70 this year but still run 5 miles most days with zero aches and pains.

Thicker Than Water The latest Scandisoap from Sweden is entertaining and more-ish but very clearly patterned on The Legacy. Sibling rivalry runs amok in the wake of the will reading. Cunning old mum has decided to test the mettle of the unruly, self absorbed offspring. Spiffingly good, especially Paul Dano.

Billions I was put off by the title but finally got round to giving it a try. I think I made the correct decision as it's a very interesting, well filmed tale of a super rich investor, whose wealth seems to come from dubious business methods, and the driven public prosecutor out for his scalp. Greatly helped by a fine pair of lead actors and treated quite seriously, belying the slightly flippant title. There seem to be so many excellent tv shows around recently. There might be some truth to the idea that we are in a golden age of sorts. I'm certainly spending as much time watching tv shows as films these days.

Great. Thanks for the heads up on the new season of Scott & Bailey. It's on ITV, page, starting this Saturday. I enjoyed the first episode of Marcella very much. Another tough but flawed woman cop, stylishly photographed with multistranded plot. Just my cup of tea.
