  1. We'll be back home by then. Still looking... trying to get something at Fat Cats. Can't get a hold of anyone.
  2. I decided to make political posts not count. Mainly because there are a few members which camp out there and don't contribute to the rest of the board. (I was not thinking of you, Berigan, when I changed that).
  3. Looks like we're getting "attacked" by bots. I guess there's a software update I need to install. I'll probably do that a bit later tonight, so I'll have to shut the board down for a bit.
  4. Just saw this, sorry. The switching uses a standard TRS 1/4" connector. I don't see why it would be hard to wire up two switches to do what you want to do. Perhaps the one from Motion Sound would work? I always face the Leslie "backwards" because I like to have immediate access to the controls. I always faced my wooden, classic Leslies (like the 122) backwards as well because they sound better that way, especially with the louver panels removed.
  5. I'm sure his day got no better than helping me tear out ancient insulation from the walls of my 100 year old house and installing new batts! Happy Birthday, Joe. And thanks a million for your help today.
  6. They do and they are very set in their ways. Last time we talked to them (I think Ron called on our behalf) they wanted nothing to do with the idea at all.
  7. I don't think she likes organ groups. I could be wrong. I bet you they are already booked up for June as well.
  8. Supposedly there's a review of the latest Root Doctor CD "Live At The Cadillac Club" in the May 2009 issue of Downbeat but of course the only local store that carries it doesn't have it. They still have the March issue on the stand. When I tried to get a copy of the Deceber 2008 issue for the organissimo review, that same store had the November issue on the stand until February. Anyway... if someone could scan it or just type the review in here, that would be stellar. Thanks!
  9. Here's a pic of my dad back in his bachelor days (probably 19 or 20 years old) with his ride. Anybody know what that is? I have no idea. I'm not a motorcycle guy. I think they look beautiful, but I've never been into riding them.
  10. Watching clips from the Dallas / San Antonio game. Why was the stadium half empty? Isn't it the play-offs? WTF, Dallas?
  11. That's the one I used. I'm sending you a PM with contact information. Thank you! I tried the email again last night and it came back undeliverable again. At the very least, I can tell them their email isn't working when I talk to them on the phone!
  12. Looks like they are booked up in June.
  13. Pretty classless, really. Aren't they supposed to be a top seed? So why are you yelling "YAH, MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!" at the top of your lungs because Ray Allen made a lucky 3-point shot at the end of the game?
  14. I've tried contacting the 55 Bar and the email came back undeliverable.
  15. You just neatly described the impetus behind forming organissimo.
  16. If you don't have anti-virus, try AVG. That combined with a malware remover should be fine.
  17. We're heading out east this summer, starting with the 2009 Rochester International Jazz Festival on June 12th. So far we've got Chris' Jazz Cafe on the 16th, a cool place called For The Music Only in New Hope, PA on the 17th, and the JazzWeek Convention back up in Rochester, NY on the 18th. I'm getting shot down in my attempts to find anything in NYC. If anyone on the East Coast has any ideas or connections, we'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
  18. Watching Denver / New Orleans only because I miss Chauncey. And he's lighting it up in this game. Pistons will be swept. Lakers / Cavs Finals with the Cavs taking it in 6.
  19. Of course it does. How can you develop a singular style of your own if you have nowhere to play? Or if you have no one to mentor you and point out your flaws? Or if you can't get firsthand knowledge and critique from your peers because there's no scene?
  20. It's a lot more complicated than that. Plenty of "blame" to go around, if that's what you want to do. Lack of a club circuit, lack of mentoring, lack of youth support (in terms of listeners), and lack of support from people who claim to be jazz fans. I was just talking about this with a local DJ last night and he told me that a "young", famous saxophonist told him at one point that he's not competing against Joshua Redman or Brandford Marsalis or his contemporaries. He's competing against a 50 year old Joe Henderson recording. My concern with jazz education is what are you educating these people for? There's simply not enough work out there. It's not like every city has a big band to earn a living with (like a symphony).
  21. As I said on another forum, the editor(s) of this show deserve a raise.
  22. I thought it was File Transfer Protocol
