  2. I put Dan's original post through the G.O.T. 'E.M. (Gould Ornery Translator of Emotion Machine) and it produced this: In all seriousness, welcome Carole and I'm sorry your first encounter here was so rude. There are a lot of strong personalities here and I'm trying to foster more civility on the board after letting things "run free" for quite some time. Stick around and let us know what you're up to and if organissimo (my band) is ever in New York perhaps we can hook up.
  3. Smokin' Section!
  4. How about how to do the backcheck mod on a Fender Rhodes?
  5. Yeah, Avast is a resource hog. I tried it and went back to AVG, despite it's problems. I've been using AVG since 2000 and this recent iTunes problem is the only one I've ever really had. The non-free version of AVG is a resource hog; I actually bought it about two years ago to scan my emails since I was using Outlook. It slowed down my computer immensely. Now that I route everything through gmail, there's no need so I got rid of it and installed the free version.
  6. They all look like delicious pieces of human flesh.
  7. Hey Bobby, welcome to the board! Glad you've stopped in and hope to see you soon! One of the most fun gigs we've done is when the Deep Blue Organ Trio played before organissimo at Andy's! What a blast hearing you and Greg and my main man Chris Foreman! Say hello to him please the next time you see him!
  8. Well, from the looks of the cabinet it doesn't have a top rotor. Are there louvers on the front side? If so perhaps there are some stationary speakers in there like the Leslie 101GC, which was made for Gulbransen organs. It probably won't sound like what you're used to hearing in regards to a classic Hammond / Leslie combination.
  9. I finally got iTunes to re-install after creating an exemption in AVG. Now my other problem; why does it take so long for iTunes to process a tune bought from the iTunes store? It literally takes about 15 minutes per song. It's insane.
  10. This happened to me last night. Still haven't been able to re-install iTunes. I guess I'll uninstall AVG and see if that works. What a bummer; AVG used to be great but like all great software it eventually became bloated. I'll check out Avast.
  11. My mom loved Johnny Cash. I never really got into him. I thought the later stuff he did during his "comeback", covering NIN and such, was a little forced.
  12. Once we settle on a design, we'll have another poll for the color. I'm going to close this poll at the end of today and then we'll move on.
  13. The title says it all. What's your favorite vocal version of Horace Silver's "Peace", preferably by a male singer?
  14. Boy, it's impossible for some people to leave well enough alone isn't it? For the last time, nobody deleted any of your posts except for you, Chris. I am not protecting anyone. I am not lying. I wouldn't waste my time doing so and risk damaging my reputation and integrity over something so incredibly inconsequential. There is a culture of disrespect on this board that I take full responsibility for because I allowed things to be very free on here for too long, assuming that people would act with courtesy and maturity. I was wrong. I'm working to reign things in more but it will take time. I think the moderators overall are doing a good job. I will instruct them to be even more strict.
  15. It's because I don't like you, Evan. You asshole.
  16. I don't need anyone to defend me nor does my brother. I am stating a fact. I checked the moderation logs once Chris' posts were disappearing. The person deleting them was Chris, not my brother or any other moderator. My brother was the one who warned me against people leaving in a huff and doing exactly that (deleting their posts on the way out). If he was deleting Chris' posts, I would have seen it in the moderation logs. It was not there. Allen wasn't calling me a liar; he was just repeating what he'd heard (read). No need for people to get all huffy. Relax! We're supposed to be talking about music not throwing around insults and accusations!
  17. Sigh. It was NOT a moderator that deleted Chris' posts. He claims that, but he is mistaken. I not only asked my brother about it (who would not lie to me, especially about something so inconsequential) and I checked the moderator logs. He (my brother) did not delete any of Chris' posts. Larry did not do it. Nor MG. Nor myself. The person deleting Chris' posts was Chris. I deleted clementine's account and his posts per his request. He said he was being stalked and it was causing him a lot of grief in the real world. I don't usually do that... I have been asked before... but in this case I thought it best for him and for the board.
  18. Not quite! Almost pulled the trigger and then realized I still have Dreamcast games I've never played. I wish I had time for video games, but if I sit down to play one, all I can think is "I should be writing music". Prioritizing happens with kids.
  19. Time to put that money towards things other than jazz and/or going to see live music! Or better yet, learn an instrument you've always wanted to learn!
  20. He is very melodic and smooth (not in a smooth jazz way). I love his phrasing. Great guy, too. Met him in NYC.
  21. I don't think it would keep people smoking. The nicotine does that. They are just trying to get people to switch brands.
