  1. The new Root Doctor CD is now available from CDUniverse and other fine retailers! Root Doctor - Been A Long Time Coming We have a cool show tonight in Kalamazoo opening for Tab Benoit at the State Theatre. Should be a great time!
  2. I added direct links to CDUniverse to the original post, for those interested.
  3. Jim Alfredson

    diskkiosk

I don't get how this can be legal.
  4. Here are the direct links to CDUniverse for those interested: Freddie Hubbard - Live At The Left Bank: Fastball Freddie Hubbard & Jimmy Heath - Live At The Left Bank: Jam Gems
  5. Kevin, Nice site and sounds. Welcome!
  6. Since the poll is pretty evenly split, I could make sub-skins for each of the four colors (blue, peach, purple, and green) so people have both options available (ie, the search bar in the logo strip or underneath in the white area).
  7. If he would like to design something, that would be great. I could PM him the appropriate code.
  8. Well, physchology would say to make it stand-out as much as possible so people don't forget. But I can make it whatever color(s) would make people comfortable. I can make it blend in with the four skins. Not a big deal.
  9. I'm adding a poll to this thread, since I can't decide where to put the CD Universe link. Do you like it where it is, or do you like it up top, to the right of the organissimo logo? To see it to the right of the logo, scroll to the bottom of this page and in the skin selector menu (a white box at the far left that will either say Org 2.1.3 Peach, Org 2.1.3 Blue, Org 2.1.3 Purple, or Org 2.1.3 Green, depending on what skin you're currently using) and choose the skin org_CDTest. The CD Universe search form will now be at the top of the page, to the far right of the logo. Which do you prefer?
  10. You secret is safe with me.
  11. I found this via a Google search and thought it was cool. http://www.chuckingersoll.com/page/page/2407409.htm It's a nice list, although I can't imagine putting Soulive's record on there and leaving out Dr. Lonnie Smith - Too Damn Hot! That's one of the baddest organ records released in the past 20 years, imo.
  12. Looks like this is coming back for another season. They have some really good shows lined up, imo. Joey DeFrancesco and Lonnie Smith, Pat Metheny and Jim Hall, Robert Cray and Keb Mo', Dave Sanborn and Phil Woods... http://www.legendsofjazz.net/television/ I'll be checking it out!
  13. And a mullet. I've been working on it for years.
  14. It's all between CDBaby and eMusic.
  15. Man, I was pulling my hair out at the Pistons last night in the first half. 23% shooting?!? Unbelievable. And with all that, they were only down 8 at the half. They caught a major break in Mourning getting hurt. Heat are playing very well lately. This should be an interesting Eastern Conference Finals.
  16. All you have to do is go to the CDUniverse.com website through the search engine above. Once you're there, organissimo forums will get credit for any purchases you buy. You don't have to do anything but get there through here. You can also get there directly by using this link: http://www.cduniverse.com/default.asp?styl...=lk_organissimo The easiest thing to do would be to make that link your new CDUniverse bookmark. That way the forums gets credit for any visits, purchases, etc. We only make money off purchases, but they do keep track of visits, too.
  17. From the CDUniverse Affiliate FAQ:
  18. Just an update: I started a new thread about this, posted an announcement that appears in every forum, and as you probably noticed, added a search engine to the top of the page that will link directly to CDUniverse. If you read about a cool CD here and want to buy it, please consider using that search engine and buying from CDUniverse. If not, no biggie! Thanks!
  19. It ranges from 6-8% depending on the amount of sales done per month. The more sales, the higher the percentage.
  20. As discussed in this recent thread, the cost of running this forum has just increased and will probably increase again shortly. As some of you may have noticed, the board sometimes bogs down. This is due to too many connections to the forum (ie, too many people trying to read it) for the current server to adequately handle. I plan on upgrading to a more powerful server to augment the load capacity. But again, that will require more money per month. One of our members came up with an easy solution to help ease the burden, and that is to use the affiliate program of the online CD store, CDUniverse.com. As jazz fans, we all buy a lot of music and most of it has to be bought online due to it's relative scarcity. Now, if you decide to buy a title (any title) by clicking on it through this site, the organissimo forums will receive a portion of the sale, at no extra charge to you. Think about how much music you've discovered by being part of this community. I hate asking for Paypal donations (seems like begging to me), but the greatest service that this forum provides is exposure to new music, releases, re-issues, etc. How better to support the cost of the forum than by utilizing this affiliate program? To help, simply use the search form that now appears at the top of the page, in the red/pinkish box underneath the main logo section. It will automatically take you to CDUniverse and any purchases will count towards the organissimo forum affiliation. Thank you for your support! ADDENDUM: I'm adding a poll to this thread, since I can't decide where to put the CD Universe link.
  21. Yes, if you want to do your own searching and not worry about the code, just click here. As long as you search and order from the new window that opens when you click that link, organissimo forums will get the credit for the sale(s). Again, to go to CDuniverse and search for CDs yourself, just go here: http://www.cduniverse.com/default.asp?styl...=lk_organissimo If you have a bookmark to CDUniverse, an easy thing to do would be to use that address as the new bookmark.
  22. Have you heard the first one with the trio, Our Gang?
  23. I signed up for CDUniverse. If you want to order something and give the forums credit, just add this to the end of the string in your address bar: &frm=lk_organissimo In other words, if you are trying to order this: http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?...278854377&BAB=M To give organissimo forums credit for the sale, just add &frm=lk_organissimo to the end so it looks like this: http://www.cduniverse.com...snip...2788543...=lk_organissimo I will start compending a list of discs that have been discussed on this board and creating another forum to house the lists. In the meantime, just add that little string to the end of the address for any CD.
  24. I'm curious what people think of the Amazon Associate idea. It seems like a nice way of generating income from this place, since many of you buy lots of CDs. As mentioned in the other thread, this forum tends to bog down once 60+ people get on it and very soon I'm going to have to upgrade the server. If, through this Amazon Associates thing, we could generate some income towards the monthly bill, that would be fantastic.
  25. It says 'mellotron' on my lp. I haven't listened to the LP in awhile. I'm probably thinking of the Don Patterson MUSE date of around the same era where he used an Arp String Ensemble.
