Jim, I really have no idea why you're having problems. The board runs and has been running very speedy for me. Does it do this on other computers that you use? What operating system are you using? Have you scanned for viruses and spyware recently? There are bugs out there that will slowly make frequently visited websites unaccessable. My brother had one a few years back.

Ah yes, but remember that tunes are rarely recorded in the order that they appear on the album. Pumpkin Pie was the first tune we cut that we kept (after two tries at Wealthy St. to start the sessions on the first day) and then we did a keeper of Wealthy St. Give the "organissimo is in the studio" thread a once-over to read about the order in which we recorded the tunes.
-
No, today was our first day in the studio, so we have a long road ahead of us, although we recorded about 9 tunes today. But I gotta do some horn arrangements, hire some horn players, figure out if I want to use strings on one track and whether to make them real strings or samples, etc. Fun stuff.

No, it's a mistake! I don't know why the images were set to organissimo.net (but I did it, so I must've had a reason!) The frustrating thing is... I've gone in a changed the code but it doesn't seem to make a difference!! I'm pretty confused right now.

Don, you should get yours tomorrow, I would expect. I was not able to get to the PO today for the international orders. I'll try again tomorrow. I apologize for the delay, but on the plus side, I had a great time in the studio with my r&b band, even making up a tune on the spot. I just got back from the session, actually. Tomorrow it's more recording starting at noon. I'll do my best to get to the PO in the morning. Uncle Skid, thanks for the comments! I just got wind that CDBaby got their CDs today, so it should be up and for sale on the CDBaby website in a few days. Please folks, if you feel up to it, write a short review on the CDBaby page. It really does help us sell more. Thanks!

I just want to know if he's ok. I thought he added some much needed character to this board.

That's very strange. organissimo.net does exist. I'm waiting for it to get transfered to me. It's still on the old servers. Once the name is transfered to me, I can set it up to be a mirror of organissimo.org and such problems will be solved.

By the way, thank you scottb for the kind words. Wait until you hear the record in all it's high-fidelity glory instead of streamed in a low-bit rate!!! It sounds fantastic! You're right, the development of the band from WFTBS to this record (in just two years) is pretty bold. I am very proud of my boyz and what we've accomplished, even if the scale is small. I've stated it before, but my goal is to no less than re-define what the organ trio can do. And I'm extremely lucky to have found two musical soulmates who share that vision.

Yes, Mitchell just sent this to me! How exciting!!! Our first positive reviews! To everyone who has supported us thus-far by hanging out here or buying the last record or pre-ordering this new record, I want to personally extend a very heartfelt and GIGANTIC "thank you"! We couldn't have done it without you. I know it sounds cliche, but in this case it is completely true. Your support gave us the confidence to self-produce yet another CD and to keep on keepin' on with our vision of what the organ trio can be. To all those who pre-ordered: I sent out all domestic packages today (over 50!!) so you should be seeing them as soon as the week's end, depending on where you are in the country. I will try my best to get the international orders out tomorrow, although it might have to wait until Thursday since I am going into the studio with my r&b band tomorrow. Again, thank you all for everything! And please, when you get your copy of the new disc, check in here and let me know. All comments are welcome as well. Positive, negative, lukewarm... it's all good! The CD should be on CDBaby by the end of the week and please please please review it (even if it ain't so positive). Thank you!

Organissimo is in the studio...
Jim Alfredson replied to Jim Alfredson's topic in organissimo - The Band Discussion
We had a great time at the signing party last night. Mike Scott from WGVU came by with Randy and my dad and step-mother showed up after dinner. For dinner I made tilapia with multi-grain noodles and a white sauce along with salad. Good stuff. All pre-orders are ready to go out today. I may not get to the international orders today since I have to fill out a customs form for each one and Zora might not have the patience for that after waiting for 50+ other packages to get weighed. If not, international orders will go out tomorrow. I will hopefully put up samples today on the website. -
I fixed some of the errors in this 2 year old thread. Everybody on this board better be ordering copies from Chuck directly!
-
Johnny Hammond Smith is/was very underrated. I enjoy all his discs, as well and always find something interesting in the arrangements and tune choices.

ORGANISSIMO LIVE BROADCAST TONIGHT!
Jim Alfredson replied to randissimo's topic in Jazz Radio & Podcasts
Finally got a copy of the disc. There are some nice moments! Overall I feel better about my playing than at the time. We're still deciding whether to make it downloadable (ie, archive it on the site) or possibly use some of the material for a release. -

We're signing them tonight, which means they'll go out tomorrow. Is that cool?
