  1. Yessir. Before they are released to the public we'll be offering signed copies to the forum members.
  2. Luke, I've been meaning to get a pair of the Hardy's for some MAP preamps I have (pre-Melcor and thus pre-API but made by the same folks as both). The guy I bought the cards from said if you put the Hardy's in there, they are incredible. But first I want to get that JLM Labs kit! What's your thought on the influx of Chinese microphones? There are some pretty good ones out there, I think.
  3. Some nice pedal work on the "Organ Grinder's Swing" record, specifically the ballad. "I'll Close My Eyes" I think?
  4. Don't forget the new Organissimo CD which should be out sometime this year. B-)
  5. Pistons are stompin' the Pacers right now. Is rachel at the game?
  6. In all seriousness, I bought a SEALED copy of this off eBay last year for $7. If you're patient, you can find it.
  7. I have napkins to take care of that. You glue them onto your head and you stay sane. I've read those napkins only work if they are covered in ketchup. Is this true?
  8. Mike, I use a custom made direct box into a parametric tube EQ that "warms" up the sound a bit and is set to filter out basically everything but the low end. Before Organissimo got a real sound system, I just ran the output of the EQ into an amp and a Yamaha 15" speaker cab. Now I just run it into the mixer to our sound system, and we have a powered Yorkville sub which makes the bass thunderous!!!
  9. By all means... focus on playing chords and melodies. Get that DVD that Mike was talking about.
  10. Whatever happened to parenting? Why get the police involved? My elementary school principle was an ass. He actually spanked me once and when my dad found out he marched right into the office, cornered the guy, and scared the living shit out of him without laying a finger on him. Seriously. The guy wouldn't even look at me anymore after that. Later he got arrested for soliciting a prostitute. Fantastic.
  11. I would love to use two Leslies live, but I don't have the space to haul another one. I use one and augment the bass sound with a separate speaker.
  12. LeBron is crazy. Pistons finally won one last night after losing four straight (that loss against Minneapolis was bullshit... the refs should've called goal tending and the Piston's would've won it). Clippers slapped around the Lakers last night.
  13. Do you mean a Half-rican American?
  14. Luke, it's great to see you here again. The Millennia stuff is on my wishlist. I would love a HV3 and really for the price, it's a steal. Have you seen this fellows dual-servo kit? JLM Audio It has been getting some really rave reviews from the DIY community, including this one: http://www.prodigy-pro.com/forum/viewtopic...ghlight=jlm+99v A dual channel kit is only $475US, which is ridiculous if it really sounds as good as I've read. This is going to be my next purchase. Changing subject: Check out this thread, too: http://www.organissimo.org/forum/index.php...opic=16258&st=0
  15. OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD. BLASPHEMY...LOU DONALDSON 'LIVE AT THE CADILLAC CLUB'...ALMOST NOTHING HAPPENING?....OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD. Mike, I agree with you wholeheatedly. About this record and that this thread is a drag. Nothing happening on The Scorpian. Wow. I'm still speechless on the previous assessment of "A New Sound, A New Star".
  16. That's what I like to hear!!!! Mike, I'm going to send you something. A link... not tonight, but soon. Be on the lookout for a PM.
  17. Buy it and I'll grab it from you the next time I'm on the West Coast!
  18. Maybe it's me, but I always sensed a disturbing undercurrent to the whole Hung fad that ran a little like this: "Ha ha! Look at that funny Chinese dude!" If you know what I'm saying....
  19. If anyone on this board admits that they have the William Hung CD (or is it CDs now?) you will be automatically banned by Masterhit.
  20. Mike, that is such a cute picture! I think there is one like that with my two eldest sisters, sitting at my dad's B3. I'll have to see if I can find it. Such a cute little guy!!!
  21. I listen to bad music because it's funny. I just don't buy it. Luckily you can get enough of it free via radio, just like free bad TV shows!! The musical term for singing a flurry of notes ala Mariah Carey is melisma. You can actually blame Stevie Wonder and other soul/R&B singers for that, but the difference is that they did it with taste.
  22. ss1 congrats! Yes, by all means buy that baby! I got an A100 for $200 awhile ago but my wife wouldn't let me keep it. I sold it to a buddy of mine for what I paid, since he's a good friend and poor as hell. He turned around a sold it for a profit to pay for work on another organ of his (which is fine) but I wish I still had it. Beautiful tone. I agree with Soul Stream, a Leslie would be nice, but you don't really need one. You can get the Larry Young vibe without it! You said you're not patient. You have to be to learn any instrument. Fool around with it, listen to records, noodle around, but if you're serious don't give up. They are hard instruments to play but if you keep at it, one day it'll click. You have a big resource here to ask questions about technique, drawbar settings, pedal ideas, etc.
  23. This is getting awfully close to cyber-stalking.
  24. Already took care of it. Aric, you're getting awful close to being a very special type of member. One who gets his name in red!
