  1. Party Pooper. -_-
  2. FCUK THAT, YOUR ALL FUCKIN IDIOTS!!!
  3. I put this on my Christmas list. I hope Santa is kind this year!
  4. Chopin?!? CHOPIN?!? C'mon man! That stuff is absolutely beautiful! Sometimes I honestly think being a jazz fan gets in the way of enjoying music in general (and I include myself in this generalization... I'm guilty of it sometimes, too). Just think about that for a minute.
  5. Get off your high horse, Joe. Seesh. -_-
  6. For our local members, our Third Annual Holiday Party is tonight at Founders. Details, details:
  7. Drool..... http://www.lostkoi.org/EBAY/sy.htm
  8. Arno is the proud owner of Stan Getz's Mark VI.
  9. Y'all need a copy of this disc like yesterday.
  10. Do a search for "Conn Naked Lady" on eBay and you'll see. They are pretty desirable, although tenor moreso than alto. My dream horn? A 1950s King Super 20 Silversonic. OH YEAH!
  11. Metheny's tone is instantly recognizable. I don't know how much more personal you can get.
  12. My laptop goes out all the time. It's annoying. My laptop is in the living room and the router is down in the basement. The weird thing is that my office computer, which is on the second floor, never loses it's signal. It makes no sense that the laptop, which is only one floor away, loses signal all the time and the office machine, which is two floors up, doesn't. Who knows?!
  13. I swear this is true: Back when I was kid my dad had one of those ancient tube radios that only got AM... huge, massive thing with big knobs and a gigantic tuning dial. Anyway, I used to fire it up without his permission (it was in my parents' bedroom) and I swear, the only music that would come out of it was old big band swing stuff. Here I was, 8 or 9 years old, looking for some rock n' roll, and all this thing would play, no matter where the dial was, was swing. I thought it was haunted.
  14. Wireless connections aren't the best for playing games over. They are usually much slower than advertised (but fast enough for basic web surfing). How good of a signal is he getting downstairs?
  15. Really? Well, how do you explain THIS smart-guy?!?
  16. How about a booking agent that still is a musician and takes all the good gigs for his band? We have two of those in Lansing. They are worthless.
  17. Yeah, San Diego. I feel for you, man! NOT! It was so cold up in northern Michigan (I played a casino gig this weekend up there) that my car almost wouldn't start this morning as I left the hotel. I think with the windchill it was -30. It took a full hour of driving for the car to warm up and actually give me heat through the air vents. It's not much warmer here in Lansing. I think the high temp today was 10. I went wireless awhile back. Right now I'm sitting on my couch trying to clear my mind and get back to sleep (Zora woke up screaming... must've been a bad dream).
  18. We played "Deed I Do" with Arno this past summer. Fun tune!
  19. ...from whence he launches his diabolical saxophone assaults at humanity!!!
  20. Anybody see the Lions/Vikings game? Criminey. The Lions just can't get a break.
  21. Arno just sent Joe and I some charts for the tune "Blue Lou" and I'm wondering what the quintessential recorded version of it might be. I have only one version by Lockjaw (from a Pablo "Live at Montreux" side) and, though swingin', the melody is nefarious at best. Thanks!
  22. And I was there afterwards, and you know he was at least as happy then, too. Maybe there's hope to get an invite back in 2005, since it will be two years since the one you played? He's not booking the festival anymore, but it's still worth a shot.
  23. Nice post, Randy.
