  1. Hey waitaminute... what about you, muthafuc.... Reminds me of that ol' joke: What's the difference between and dead frog in the street and a dead trombonist? The frog was on his way to a gig!
  2. Oh I should also say that I like using chords with both a major and minor seventh in them. It irks Joe G's ear, but I dig 'em!
  3. Oh Jesus, the Organfreak has found my website!!! HA! What's up, Scott? Your posting on the usenet are infamous. I dig your page too, with the live Groove recordings and such. I've got a boot for you if you're interested featuring Gene Ludwig, Pat Martino, and Randy Gelispie (hometown Lansing cat!) Welcome! J Lee, nice to see another organists around here as well! Welcome to you too and to both, enjoy!
  4. A long deployment? Are you in the military?
  5. I am the warning the label. If I don't like it, I'll say so and either close the thread or delete it. Probably the former.
  6. Who was it who said you don't know a tune until you can play it in all keys?
  7. Here we are, five pages in, blah blah blah blah. It's gone. It's done. And so is this thread.

  9. I love you all, too.
  10. No, this is: A) A bulletin board on the Organissimo website. Organissimo is my band that I'm trying to make successful and this website exists primarily as a promotional tool for that band. I didn't like the idea of saying to complete strangers at gigs, "Hey, check out our website, specifically our forums!" and then thinking they'll come here and see half-naked women. There are plenty of sites out there for that, if that's what you want. B) A jazz discussion board and to a smaller extent a music discussion board. I know, I know... "What about the politics section and the religious dicussions?" Both are intrinsicly linked with music. Check out Coltrane's "A Love Supreme" or any Bob Dylan record. I don't consider myself a prude but at the same time that thread was worthless, it contained hundreds of copyrighted images, many of which I would be ashamed to show my wife or sisters or grandmother. I let everyone here have a remarkable amount of freedom but sometimes I need to put my foot down. As far as your ridiculous comment about being PC and Disney approved... how's this for PC? If you don't like it, fuck off. Find another board. Have a nice day! PS. This is exactly the kind of bullshit I didn't want to deal with.
  11. Fair enough. Next time I'll give more warning. I also took down the "Drawn Babes" thread. I didn't care for having it or the original babe thread on my website.
  12. Ok, I gotcha. But an announcement would effectively put the issue up for debate. I would post a topic saying "I'm taking the Babe Thread down in a week" and then everyone would chime in with their opinions yay or nay and question the need for it or the need to take it down and it would go on for pages upon pages and get really dull. So I decided to bypass all that and just take it down. If it's absolutely imperative that you save some images from it, I can put it back in a closed state for a few days. In other words, no one will be able to post to it but you can sift through and save what you want to save. Then I could delete it for real.
  13. I posted in the Babe Thread about a month ago that I was very close to pulling the whole thing. I means whats I sez. 99.9% of those images can be found on the 'net I'm sure.
  14. If partitioning is a problem then the next best thing is to put all your data in the same master folder. That way, every week, you can pop a CD-R in and back-up that one folder.
  15. Aren't baby bottoms the CUTEST!?
  16. Zora is five months old. I can't believe how big she's getting.
  17. Maybe it collasped under it's own silicon-augmented weight.
  18. The reason why more and more Bonn computer scientists change college.
  19. Yes. The G becomes a Gm chord. That's how the cat Joe is speaking of swears the song is played.
  20. I've always hated the way that guy sings. Or should I say: Ah've ahwayz hayted the way-ee that guy sin-gs. Master of the dipthong.
  21. Mel Rhyne's version is in G, which is why we play it in G. He starts on the major but to be honest, I don't think I've ever heard another version of the tune. Cm would be a neat key to play it in. Come to think of it, at the top of the head on the second time around Mel does a chromatic movement down starting on the Gm chord, which I do sometimes. Maybe that's his reference to the original changes.
  22. I get accused sometimes of using "homemade" changes on standards. For instance, what is the standard bridge to "Georgia on my Mind"? Maybe not the standard, but the Ray Charles chords. Body & Soul is another one that I've had to re-learn. I learned it off a Groove Holmes record and he's messin' with the changes big time. What's the bridge on that one according to Hoyle?
  23. My favorite quote from the article: "We wanted to give our fans exactly what they've come to expect: music so inoffensive and indistinct that it could be played virtually anywhere—a bank lobby, an SUV stuck in traffic, a party full of aging stockbrokers and their girlfriends. That's no small task. Even a lot of the most vacant and unimaginative people have some capacity to actively engage in the music they're listening to."
  24. http://theonion.com/news/index.php?issue=4038&n=1 So many great quotes from this story!!! I almost spit my milk through my nose reading this!
