I had to cancel my tunings today. Calling the clients was funny. "I can't get out of my neighborhood to get to you." "Well, you can't get into my neighborhood to get here anyway!" We have plenty of food and heat and electricity, so it's time to just hang out.

I haven't seen snow like this since I was a kid.

Whew! That was a fun drive home from Detroit!

Last night's Dirty Fingers gig was a ball. Sold 18 CDs, too! Tonight I'm with Greg Nagy opening for Bettye Lavette at the Magic Bag. Doors at 7pm.

Two problems to troubleshoot today: Leaky kitchen faucet base (problem: bad catridge... need to order a new one) and '09 Scion xB ABS, VCS, and BRAKE warning lights flashing after the car refused to start. I got it to start and a huge brown cloud came out the exhaust. I don't think the two issues are related; starting issue was probably water condensed in the gas tank (it was almost empty) and the tire pressure sensors have been flashing for awhile. For the last time, tuning your instrument to 432Hz does not have anything to do with any mathematical constant of the universe and Pope Francis did not say that all religions are true. Critical thinking, folks. Critical thinking. Please.

Electricity has been restored. 37 degrees in the house. It's slowly warming back up. Merry Christmas.

47 degrees in my house right now. This is not good.

It's 50 degrees in my house.

Power still out. Branches still cracking and coming down all over the neighborhood. My house is currently 58 degrees inside. Stay warm, friends!

It's really beautiful outside, the ice coating the trees and bushes. But I'm very thankful I didn't have to drive home from a gig tonight!
