  1. Ugh. Why is it so hard to add social media buttons to my header in WP? I've been trying to do so for two hours with no success.

  2. The pinnacle of "organ" drummers. RIP.
  3. Had some fun last night. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5cL3FpnxJQ
  4. It was my little Super P's fourth birthday yesterday and she specifically asked me to make her a cherry pie instead of cake. A girl after my own heart. Pie > Cake any day.

  5. On the road, heading to Binghamton NY for a show with Janiva Magness tomorrow night. Then into NYC for the AES convention Saturday.

  6. Here's a two-part review of the new Mini Vent from Neo Instruments, a smaller version of their acclaimed Leslie speaker emulator, The Ventilator. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYHje9ioL2Q https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pL31HuS1RYs
  7. We're creatures of our comfort. How else to explain? The foundation's all but rotten Yet the walls still remain.

  8. The thing that consistently blows me away about the Beatles is how quickly they went from just a glorified bar band to changing the entire face of rock. I mean, they went from the above concert on Swedish radio in '63 to Sgt. Pepper in four years! It really is nothing short of incredible.
  9. "I cannot conceive of a God who rewards and punishes his creatures, or has a will of the type of which we are conscious in ourselves. An individual who should survive his physical death is also beyond my comprehension, nor do I wish it otherwise; such notions are for the fears or absurd egoism of feeble souls. Enough for me the mystery of the eternity of life, and the inkling of the marvelous structure of reality, together with the single-hearted endeavor to comprehend a portion, be it never...

  10. Yeah, we brought a real B3 to Twins. That sucked. I travel with a Hammond SK2 now. 35lbs. The heaviest thing I carry is the Leslie 3300 which is about 125lbs. So it should be much easier this time around.
  11. I don't know what Janiva's dates are but hopefully we can re-schedule soon and I'll just tell Janiva to block out the weekend we choose.
  12. Performing tonight with Sir Lawrence Barris at 1917 American Bistro in Detroit. 7pm. Gonna be a greasy good time.

  13. I went ahead and cancelled the gig. The other musicians were getting other offers for local gigs that weekend and it was unfair to make them wait on something that looks like it won't happen anyway and thus miss out on paying gigs. The Smithsonian has said they will re-schedule for spring.
  14. Weird. I'll look into that. In any case, here's the cover from my designer's portfolio: http://dribbble.com/shots/1263797-dirty-fingers
  15. I've been working hard on the next project, trying to combat "demo love" and do some serious editing / tweaking / evaluation. Last night I finally wrote a chorus to a song that has needed one for a long time but had proven incredibly evasive. This is going to be a strong record.

  16. That's an attachment of the album art. It does show up for me. Strange. Anyone else not seeing it?
  17. Yes, the shutdown has affected the gig. The cut-off date to cancel is the 15th, but I might cancel it before that, frankly. I didn't have enough time to work on getting other bookings and so yes, it was the only date. I also have to go up to Binghamton, NY the very next day to play with Janiva. So that gig messed up the weekend. The person who booked the Smithsonian gig said that they would re-schedule for spring if it's cancelled. That's what I'm hoping for because it would give me more time to book other gigs. Plus, it's not really going to be an organissimo gig since Randy could not do the Oct date.
  18. 8 hours to render the final DVD mpg for the Patton Project and I realize afterwards I misspelled "photographry" in the end credits. D'oh!!!

  19. I love the fall. That is all.

  20. Can't sleep. Clown'll eat me.

  21. Got to the gym for the first time since March. 3 miles on the elliptical. Not bad. Gotta get the "road gut" off. :)

  22. "Hi Jim, It's a lovely song and really nicely played and sung. I enjoyed listening to it and I wish you the very best with it. Warmest wishes, ~Steve Hackett"

  23. On the menu today: How to make a DVD (and menus) with DVD Architect. Wish me luck.
