  1. Dude, watch out... he's gonna use his vast music industry connections to make sure you never play a gig again and can only listen to Kenny G records. He can do that, you know.
  2. Anouska? Isn't that a song by Kate Bush? Bush?
  3. Aha, you got me!!! I was just discussing my new avatar with Joe G tonight and told him, "I would be shocked if anyone knew what it was!" Congrats, rockefeller! I animated the Influence Device myself... what do you think? Marble Madness... I'm going to have to download that one for the ol' Commodore 64 emulator. Have you played with an emulator yet? So far CSS64 is the best one I've found and you can find pretty much every game ever made for the Commodore 64 online. Did you ever play Wizball? That was a great game and I was trying to play it today but quickly remembered that, contrary to the instructions, it is truly a two-person, cooperative game. One person cannot really do it alone. I need to get my brother over here and play it with him! Long live Paradroid!!! There's an "updated" version out there called "Freedroid" that works under Windows, Mac OSX and Linux. It's pretty cool!
  4. Ed, that was quite funny. I can't believe they've left it up there when it's obviously a joke. Boners.
  5. In fact, here it is... Super Friends...
  6. Good Lord, that was some funny shit!! I had tears in my eyes at some of those I was laughing so hard! Inspired by Cartoon Network, no doubt... have you ever seen the mock Budweiser "wassup" commercial Cartoon Network did with the Super Friends? One of the funniest things I've ever seen.
  7. Funny thing is, I used to play this tune in my first organ trio, which featured my dad on guitar. It's been years since I've played it, but I'm sure it'll come back to me...
  8. How funny... I was just researching federal grants and came across the list of Jazz Masters on the NEA site and thought to myself, "What?!? No Jimmy Smith?!?!?!?!?!" Don't they award three musicians per year? If so, I'm writing one for both Sam and Jimmy.
  9. It would have to be purple, of course!
  10. I've been super busy with gigs lately so I know it's over-due... I'll change it now.
  11. By the way, who was his band back then?
  12. My dad turned me onto him when I was little... he's fun! I remember back in high school I found a CD that had a bunch of his old stuff on it and bought it for my dad who was thrilled since he had long lost his original vinyl.
  13. Well, I really don't need the work... But it was a nice idea.
  14. VERY cool! I've always wanted an iPod but the cost was quite prohibitive. And the fact that I don't really know what I'd do with it. I mean... I mainly listen to music in my car and it has a CD player... that's all I need. Then again, the whole concept of going to CompUSA with a 10gig iPod and transfering Microsoft Office to it's internal harddrive is quite tempting...
  15. We have been open since March 7, 2003, so it's coming up on a year now. This is still a work in progress but I thank everyone for making it such a cool place to hang. I know I need to make some more skins and all... I'll get there, I promise! Didn't someone say that Mike Ricci over at AAJ is trying to get Blue Note to let him transfer some of the old threads over to his forum? That would be kind of neat. Oh, and I like this place better than the BNBB myself...
  16. Even better...
  17. Joe was over practicing tonight and hipped me to this thread. Here's the card we're sending to our elder loved one....
  18. Yes, it is indeed. Especially the thread "How you can help Norah's career" started by our favorite Christian drummer.
  19. We've always just buried them in the back yard somewhere. Of course we always lived where there was plenty of land around (fields, forests, etc). Now that I live in the city and my dad lives in the city, who knows?
  20. Mine started with a tingling in the back of my throat. Then it sapped my energy in a matter of hours (I was playing a gig at the time it started). Then I woke up the next morning with a bad fever.
  21. Oh I like Hall & Oates for what they are. But I didn't want to drive 2 hours to see them and then pay for parking, sit on grass, etc.
