  1. Heh...Onion writer should have saved this for when Blanton is back off the DL. Hey J.H., did you happen to notice that the stick a fork in him, he's done, Raul Ibanez has raised his B.A. went from .154, to .214 after going 8 for 12 in the past 3 games, including 2 homers???
  2. Cruz may have to join Hamilton on the DL but like you get at, as long as you can get pitching like tonight some of those games may go your way while the big bats heal. I wasn't expecting anything fun & winning at all this year and the M's have done imitations of the Cubs August swoon with better teams than this, but to be hanging around in early May is better than I expected. What the hell, I'm even going to pretend that maybe the winning can extend beyond that. Well, I guess some of us "real" baseball fans like to see other teams get to have fun too! Cleveland 21-9 and in 1st? Very cool! Royals 17-14, and in second in the same division??? Also way cool! Pittsburgh 15-16??? Still cool! Marlins 19-11, ahead of the Braves??? Umm, boy if there ever was a team rip for contraction!
  3. A couple of players with more RBI's than anyone on the Red Sox or Yankees... 39 Year old Chipper Jones (11 doubles, 3 HR's 23 RBI's, .286 BA) and of course...Jeff Francoeur! 8 HR's 24 RBI's, .305 B.A. (.346 OBP!) Need I mention the braves connection??? Even former Brave Wilson Betemit, has 16 RBI's and a .324 BA. Yankees need to give Andruw Jones more A.B's to get the proper Brave effect on the the Yankees...Red Sox need to make sure Salty gets more playing time, it's the Red Sox ONLY hope.
  4. Congrats!!! You are now a level 5 whiney ass baseball fan, the Red Sox level! Last April, Ibanez hit .222 with one homer. .243 Pre all star break, .309 after the break. Few folks of any age in baseball work out as hard as he does. And players have actually been productive at that ancient age. by the by, your fucked team is 18 and 9 and in a tie for first place. Without production from Left field. Without Chase Utley(who is supposedly going to start playing in games very soon)Without your closer. So.Very.Fucked!
  5. I could have sworn Willie McCovey hit two slams in the same inning, but I was wrong... though he did hit two in an inning, including a G.S. Jun 27, 1977 - The Giants Willie McCovey smashes 2 HRs‚ one a grand slam‚ in the 6th inning to pace a 14-9 victory over the Reds. McCovey becomes the first player to twice hit 2 HRs in one inning (4/12/73)‚ and also becomes the all-time NL leader with 17 career grand slams. Andre Dawson‚ in 1978 and 1986‚ will clout 2 round trippers in an inning. http://www.baseballlibrary.com/ballplayers/player.php?name=Willie_McCovey_1938&page=chronology And about the only things I have ever known about Jim Bottomley was that he played for the cards, and drove in 12 in a game...
  6. Yeah, duh, the cat's name is Tim Collins, and you should have a look at him. His hat's too big for his head, it seems, and the name and numbers on the back of his uniform are almost bigger than the uniform itself. But the guy's got this old-school high-kick full windup reminiscent of Juan Marichal, and yeah, the cat deals. Here's hoping him an excellent career, with at least some of it spent pitching for the Rangers (as in, BOY COULD WE USE HIM NOW!!!). Braves had him for 2 weeks last summer...sigh..... Another brave.... Yes, starting to look like Cashman was right to balk at signing him. Hopefully he turns it around, but the signs so far don't look good. And WFT with Brent Lillibridge, eh? Dude robbed us of two game-tying or winning hits from A-Rod and Cano in the bottom of the 9th. Gotta doff your cap to that, though it doesn't tickle me to do so. (My realtime reaction was kind of blue, to put it mildly.) Brent Lillibridge, yet another (former) brave!

  8. Can't even begin to imagine what it's like to go through these constant quakes....as everyone else does, hope they don't last another year!!!!
  9. oops!!! hope it was a great one
  10. Doesn't look like it... He earned over $200MM in his career, according to Baseball-Reference, but won't earn the bulk of his agreed upon 2011 salary. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2011/04/manny-ramirez-retires.html I can almost, almost feel sorry for him...almost. What a fool....
  11. Me too, as long as they don't fire Francona if they get swept by the Yankees... I hope this was the only time the Red Sox come to Cleveland .... "The slate's not really clean," Boston manager Terry Francona said. "The record is what it is, but I don't want us to have a hangover. We need to pick it up. We're going to play a good team now. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=310407105 Hey Soulstation, might be the one time this year you will have to strut, go crazy son!
  12. Actually, I might have cut her some slack if I hadn't noticed she has 4 children, and was just doing this to herself. And since she's 35, they can't be very old. Can you imagine seeing your Mom look like that, at say, 5 years old??? Would you have your kids play at her house??? She probably should have had psychiatric help years ago...how can she work to support her kids??? How can she afford the surgeries??? And like Bright Moments said, what doctor would deform someone like this???
  13. Isn't she striking???
  14. Well, they took him out and it was 4-1, David Robertson gave up a bases clearing double....
  15. Is that old for a gopher??? Hope it was a good one!
  16. For sure!!! Melky Cabrera hitting .280, Jeff Francoeur .318...I am sure they will end the season with similar numbers! Of course, not having Terry Pendleton as your hitting coach can only help...
  17. If you're buying, I'm drinking. We don't brew any haterade for the Giants down here. We just send cholos to hospitalize them. Kidding, in bad taste. No problem, Jon. They shot a Giants fan a couple years ago. At least this one is still alive. As to tonight's game-Three words: Barry Fucking Zito. The only saving grace for Mr. Goferball is the season's still young. Grrrr Barry Fucking Zito??? I was expecting to see 7 runs in 4 innings or something... 6 innings 3 runs. Not too bad for your 5th starter...an expensive 5th starter, but still!
  18. Well, I saw on baseball tonight, Feliciano was in 44 more games the past 4 seasons, than any other pitcher...he was abused, but Cashman should have known better... Rangers fans, Matt Harrison, yet another gift from the Braves! You are quite welcome!
  19. No comments so far...is it just on my end then??? No other problems on other sites...
  20. Emoticons, the...well, the other things, bold, embed a link, most everything! You can still if you remember what the characters are...
  21. Like the way you see things! Ok, a little late, but I kinda sorta see.... NL East Braves (but I say this knowing fully well that with those pitchers, they don't need to score much at all and still win the division) NL Central, like Dan, I would love to see the Cubbies finally win it all, and they have interesting pieces, but everything would have to go just right.... So I predict the Reds again. Even with their pitching woes right now...Brewers have them too NL West, Giants. Stronger now than at the start of the year. NL W.C. Phils AL East, going out on a limb, the Red Sox! AL Central, those other Sox, though I would rather it be the Twins AL West, Oaklands starters will win the day W.C. Yankees, another risky pick, I know. W.S. Red Sox Vs Braves, Red Sox winning in 6, cuz they are...the best team money can buy!
  22. Yep! Saw this in the comments.... It is actually an 8 string ukulele, tenor size. We only use 5 (sometimes 6) strings however. We take a couple off to increase space between A & E for intricate picking. Then double up the C & G to give the sound more fullness. We also use Savarez Classical guitar strings for tone. Mahalo for asking. This is TD, mgr of Taimane. Oh Yeah~! Ok a for her look as well! This is really the only "professional" clip of her I saw...other clips show her performing on the street, etc, and then she looks more her age of 22...
  23. Really??? Really!!!!!  <<----- for the music she plays
  24. Something that I don't think could ever happen in the U.S. Japanese repair quake-ravaged road in just six days
  25. Let's just say I am not impressed by her.... Some TV cook can't find the time for a Make a Wish child??? I'm sure bringing some happiness into one kids life would mean thousands of Cancer stricken children, who watch her show, would want to meet her. http://www.popeater.com/2011/03/25/barefoot-contessa-refuses-sick-kid/
