  1. Lou has been a favorite singer of mine since the 60s. I wish him well. I saw him around 5 or 6 years ago. The guitarist with him then was David T. Walker and the MD was H.B. Barnum.

  14. Agreed. In addition to the above, Ben sounds great on the Verve Billie Holiday recordings he participated in. He's one of the reasons why I enjoy those recordings of Billie's so much. Every time he solos it's a gem.
  15. According to a table at this site, $5.00 in 1965 is worth around $30.00 in todays loot. I guess those gigs I was doing back then didn't pay so badly after all. Inflation Table

  17. MAN...It's hard to say anything in these situations. We all hope for a miracle or, in lieu of that, an easy passage.
  18. Here's Another Mike Shayne. I dug the one "Man With The Golden Arm" posted earlier. I had this when I was a kid - it may have been among the first Private Eye Mysteries I ever read. I think I was prompted by a series of early 40s Mike Shayne movies that were being played on TV. Anybody remember those ? Lloyd Nolan was terrific as Mike.
  19. More Mickey
  20. The movie "One Touch Of Venus" was based on this one.
