Copy-controlled or not. It is a very lovely Trio session. Together with his previous release "Stardust" his best output for years. BTW, the sound of the copy controlled edition is fine.

The first disc covers her live recordings - not my favorite one. But the rest is amazing IMO. The book(let) is nice but the CD inserts are worse. It seems to be en vogue to design packagings with useless slots. Stored mine in normal jewel cases.

I'm rather sure that they are copy controlled. But nobody listened to this Conns so far. Maybe they sound good?!

The complete "Smokin' at the Half Note" is part of the VERVE-2fer "Wes Montgomery - Impressions". You'll get the complete concert + essential Wes tunes. Great 2CD-set, IMO! In addition to the previous recommendations, I recommend "It's all right" (Verve Elite Series).

I bought this set at CDNOW in September 2002. It is numbered 9825. Mosaic will definitely not ship their boxes in sequence. Take the HAMILTON set, folks. It is one of the most underrated Mosaic sets, IMO!!!

Here is the article I found in the news section of www.jazztimes.com: When the Blue Note label returned after a five-year dormancy in 1985, label heads Bruce Lundvall and Michael Cuscuna produced a concert at New York City’s Town Hall for the occasion. The show starred a bunch of players who recorded for the label in its glory years, including drummer Art Blakey, keyboardist Herbie Hancock (pictured), vibist Bobby Hutcherson and guitarist Kenny Burrell. Portions of the show have been available on video for some time, but a new DVD due out November 4 will feature four performances previously unreleased on video as well as a Surround Sound mix. The DVD, titled One Night With Blue Note: An Historic All Star Reunion Concert, features 14 performances from the concert, most of them by all-star ensembles like the quintet of Hancock, Hutcherson, bassist Ron Carter, drummer Tony Williams and flutist James Newton. There are three solo performances, one each by guitarist Stanley Jordan and pianists Cecil Taylor and McCoy Tyner.
