The MOSAIC Customer of the Year Award 2004 goes to: WESBED Let's get together and bring wesbed to the bandstand with a great big round of applause here, how about a big hand here for wesbed! Thaank yaoow!"!!!

This is the only problem of this superb box. It is toooooooo hefty. I could live with half of this output for a much lesser price. But don't ask me which are the TOP 5 discs.... BTW, it is one of the few sets my wife likes to listen to. "Michael, put in one of the discs with the fat lady on the cover...."!
-
They put the alternate takes at the end of every disc.
-
Damn right. The last US reissue is from '95 or '96!
-
The Hodges is my favorite Mosaic set. But I voted for the JJJ because it will go OOP first!
-
Boss sounds! - Shelly Manne (Atlantic) What for a nasty cover, but the session is nice!

Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Geburtstag, Stephan!!!

Thanks Jazzmoose ... ... and a new avatar for all the Woody fans!!!

Question about OOP Mosaics
Alfred replied to TheMusicalMarine's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
Isn't the complete Chet Baker material available on other labels??? Blue Note released the live stuff on three seperate discs with some tracks added. -
I saw this expensive box on the CD Universe site. Does anyone have any opinion? Never heard of Masayoshi Takanaka. CD Universe

Read between the lines and you'll get a serious answer! In other words: NOPE!

The Farlow set will be MD7-224 and the previous release was Roy Eldridge MD7-222. Is #223 for the Woody box? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, ... strange, ... very strange! B)

This LP is one of my favorite Blue Note 200+ sessions. Joe Henderson on 'Lazy afternon' is special. I'm happy to have the Toshiba Japan import from the early 80ies. Hopefully you'll get your copy soon. I push your post up again!

Both Hodges boxes are extremely great. They are my favorite Mosaic sets.

YEAH! Fantastic news!!!! -
"Feeling free" is a real masterpiece he recorded for Contemporary in 1969. Barney Kessel played here together with Bobby Hutcherson, Elvin Jones & Chuck Domanico. Such a great quartet session. He'll be in my house forever. I'll never give my King copy out of my hands.

A fair price on eBay for the Brown is $ 115 - 130 and for the Pepper $ 110. Condition: m- I tracked both boxes on eBay at the end of last year when I tried to get them for my own collection.

what I got from ZYX is that they use the US masters but manufacture them here. Else there is no ZYX involvement in this SACD distribution. BTW: ZYX is selling them in their EBAY SHOP for even 1€ less then 2001, Mike... Cheers, Tjobbe Hi tjobbe, Did you buy from them already? They write in the auction text "Import auf(?) Amerika"?! Will you get the ZYX pressing or the 'original' US pressing?

What is the largeest thread on this board?
Alfred replied to Hardbopjazz's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
Nope. The "eBay craziness" thread will always be #1! -

Most of my favs are listed before. I like the Blossom Dearie a lot w/ Burrell, Ray Brown and Thigpen as sidemen. Jimmy Giuffre 3 and Jim Hall live! are great sessions too.
