  1. I can send you a photocopy in black & white if you want. (American.)
  2. Yikes! It's been, what, less than THREE WEEKS since hurricane Charley? Global warming at work. Hope all you guys in or near Florida ride it out safely. (Batten down the vinyl!)
  3. ALL of 'em....in mah MIND!!!
  4. You hit the nail on the head!
  5. I just learned Drake's is part of IBC, Dolly Madison is also. Look at the brands at risk HERE! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Next thing ya know, Drakes will go out of business!
  7. Maybe they should be renamed "The Suck Team."
  8. I'll discuss it as soon as I get it (which may be a while.) Right now I'm listening to the Mobley, disc #2.
  9. Think of your sandwich as the pot o' gold at the end of the meat rainbow.
  10. To quote Preston Sturges: "The French They Are A Funny People" >>>>( )<<<<
  11. I grew up on Breyers, now eat Dreyers, due no doubt to location. My son likes "Bubblegum" flavor the best (yech!)---I like this new flavor Dreyers has called "Andes Mint." But there are too many flavors I like.
  12. Sad news. RIP
  13. how about a hanc giving the "OK" sign? The thumbs-up is getting tired.
  14. Good point! I used to read the Village Voice quite regularly. Then I started reading it online. (Not as much as I used to though.)
  15. You may have a point, skeith. The fact is, the tracks you mention ("Outer Forcesl," "Blue Spirits," and "Jodo") are by far my favorites on the album, whereas the first two were kind of a chore to listen to. Could it be Laroca? I'll have to listen again.
  16. This case could be a step in the right direction, with any luck.
  17. Personally, I always thought Alphaville was a really lousy movie; boring, pretentious, and stupid. But then, I've never been much of a fan of Godard anyway. Just my two cents.
  18. Earl Bostic? Wow.
  19. I know what you mean, but on the other hand I really dig Stuff Smith and Joe Venuti. Go figure, huh?
  20. Rooster, you hit the gif on the head; we really need a non-smiling rolleyes Smilie around here! It's like missing a letter on your typewriter. We also could do with a "sarcastic" smilie. One that comunicates the sentiment, "Yeah, RIGHT! I really "loved" it! Uh-huh." None of the ones we have (a fine bunch, to be sure) really convey that.
  21. "You are CORRECT sir!!"
  22. I said imploded. It took longer to actually die. (Inprecise language on my part.) It limped along for awhile after '91, but it wasn't the magazine it used to be. For a few years there, though, it was really great. I heard rumors that as the funding went down, various writers from Spy scattered to the four winds, and it did seem that for the next few years I saw Spy-like articles and spoofs appearing in all sorts of publications.
  23. For years I had a subscription to The Economist, but now I read most of my magazines from the library. Other big favorites include: Harper's, The New Yorker, The New York Review of Books. (Before it imploded in '91/92 I enjoyed Spy Magazine, but their brand of humor seems to have found a home in The Daily Show.) I occasionally glance at a huge number of magazines, but can't say I'm a regular reader of much more than the above.
  24. I've gotta say, how in the hell could anyone half awake leave out Chuck Berry? Or Fats Domino? Or Bo Diddley? Or... You get the idea.
  25. I'm looking forward to it!!
