  1. I was a huge fan of Invader Zim! (My kids liked it too.) So of course they cancelled it.
  2. I think you've got it right: Take the ones that are hardest to replace.
  3. Are you a secret agent? B-) Hmmmm...if James Bond were a jazz fanwhat would he listen to, I wonder. B-)
  4. Interesting. All I can say is it has some of my favorite Beach Boys songs on it, as well as some of the most eccentric ("Johnny Carson" for instance.) PS---Check out "The Tear-drop Awards" sketch from the 4th season of Mr. Show, particularly the song "Mouthful of Sores"---sound familiar?
  5. BTW, how has his work managed to excape your attention for so many years?
  6. But is it as good as The Beach Boys Love You?
  7. I was thinking of reading Remembrance of Things Past, but did you know that thing is full of FRENCH PEOPLE!?!?? Very un-American.
  8. How many roads must a man walk down before they call him a man? (Just thought I'd ask.)
  9. Watch out! You'll get this thread cancelled!
  10. Well, my favorite post on the Babe Thread has never been in a movie. How unfair is THAT????
  11. Ah yes, the days of S.W.A.T. and the Planet of the Apes TV series... Who says the '70s were a cultural wasteland?
  12. Just agreement. These are both strong second-string Hank albums. That is, if first-string is understood to be the likes of Soul Station, Workout, Roll Call, etc. In fact, I like Hi Voltage a notch more than FAL and Caddy, though still not quite as much as first-string. And yeah, when the Hell ARE they going to RVG Another Workout?????? C'mon.
  13. Hmmmm.... It's as if God were angry at Florida for some reason. Why could that be?
  14. Thomas was cool.
  15. She fine. (Charlotte Rampling, I mean.)
  16. I just don't get those square ones.
  17. I think you've discovered the Neo-Con bible.
  18. It'll be like Fahrenheit 451 FOR CD's, MAN!!! (At what temperature do CD's melt?) Start hiding your collection from the flamethrower-wielding police!
  19. Tina Brooks, Sonny Clark, Clifford Jordan come to mind. Also Hank Mobley, Clifford Brown, Paul Desmond, Duke Ellington, Johnny Hodges, Lester Young, Art Pepper, Jackie McLean, Sonny Rollins, Louis Armstrong...gee, it's kind of hard to stop once you get started.
  20. So they've got kind of a Rashomon thing going on here?
  21. And here I thought the reason was Rififi, Bob le Flambeur, and Rules of the Game. Oh well.
  22. Ditto. The modelmakers are superior illusionists! The CGIs were a huge mistake, adding the footage was as misguided as colorizing a B&W film. That's Lucas for you. (I voted for Empire, BTW. Thank-you Leigh Brackett.)
  23. Too many. But I've listened to them all at least once!
