  1. That Nessa-Warne Marsh album. Sounds good.
  2. Actually, the most surprising thing was that his liver started to freak out. None of the doctors predicted that.
  3. Donald Trump---the poor man's Monty Burns.
  4. Who's that white guy with the alto?
  5. I've just now started picking up some Sonny Criss, don't ask me why I've waited so long. Why HAVE you waited so long?
  6. Giddins did a final column ("Flee As A Bird," in the December 15, 2003 Voice) in which he basically said, "It's time." But friends of mine have speculated that smaller wordage limits at the Voice may have also had something to do with it.
  7. "Allaboutjazz"----the poor man's Organissimo?
  8. It is, but we love you anyway.
  9. In this, as in so many things, I defer to the opinion of Harold Weir: "Neil Peart couldn't drum his way out of a paper bag."
  10. I'm still looking forward to it.
  11. Yeah, and his wife/girlfriend is a vegan chef!
  12. Actually, I like Jackie McLean a lot more than Coltrane. Of ANY period. But maybe that has something to do with my not thinking of Coltrane as a demi-God. (Or even a hemi-semi-demi-god.) I may well be in a minority on this, but in that case, I humbly submit that the majority is wrong.
  13. I saw it in the theater and had a great time. I prefer seeing most movies on the big screen to TV, anyway. More impact. To all those who are bashing the filmaker or the film I say this: See the movie, then get back to me. Many of you are missing the point or simply mischaracterizing a film that you haven't seen. By the way, it's funny and informative. A helluva film. I give it four Big Macs.
  14. Hmmm... I was gonna say that I'm eating fig newtons and a lemon-lime soda right now, but I think I'll pass.
  15. "4,5, and 6"----that's a good one.

Too bad. I love that album. Love the bass clarinet, too.
  17. Bar-B-Q chicken----yum!
  18. Yes ...along with the coach Fredricks coming down to breakfast while Bill is eating cereal scene. AKA the "Love Reign O'r Me" scene. Painful and hilarious at once.
  19. Ah. No wonder I missed it. "Friends"---how can we miss you when you won't go away?
  20. No. Where did it play?
  21. When I saw the title of this thread, I thought it was a plea for help in PAYING for your next Mosaic. (Not a bad idea, really.)
