Berigan, do you have the Time-Life "Masters of Jazz" Bunny Berigan box? That's what got me into him. Looking forward to the Mosaic set.

Has anybody checked out the 2-CD Proper releases? I just got a couple more today; you get two well-stocked CD's for the price of one normal CD. A midprice CD at that! Better for storage than the boxes, too. I'll definately be looking for more.

Brad, if you could hear some Stuff Smith it just might change your mind about jazz violin. I used to not be into jazz violin at ALL until I heard an album of Joe Venutie playing with Zoot Sims. There's a Verve 2-disc with three albums-worth of material, it has Smith with Dizzy Gillespie and Oscar Peterson and it swings like mad. If you see it used, give it a try! You won't be sorry.

Excellent idea! I've got only one album by Baby Face Willette and would snap up a Select in a Mosaic minute.
