looking for someone in Japan to post some cds
Harbour replied to Harbour's topic in Offering and Looking For...
Don’t you get screwed via customs that way, in the uk, my friend used to mark it was a gift and declare the value super low to avoid it. Most proxy shopping I have seen is pretty expensive, unless you know of one you can recommend? -
Hi, i used to have a friend in Japan who would kindly let me have a box of cds from Amazon.jp i bought sent to him and then i would paypal him the postage and he would send to me in UK. is there anyone in Japan on here that would be open to that, i would either order a couple of cds for them or paypal them some extra cash, whatever they wanted? just thought i'd ask thanks Richard

Yup, tried to take a photo but keeps saying file is too big for here

There’s an interesting interview with Ravi Coltrane in the new Mojo where he talks about this release and also that there are tons more recordings still in the archive and the next thing to come out this autumn is another John Coltrane Quartet live album recorded in 1965 the same week as Live in Seattle!
-
Mine have always come perfectly packaged by them, whether it be a jewel case or a mini lp.
-
received my first two batches yesterday, look great, havn't listened yet. another option is to use this seller on ebay, he's very reliable, postage is cheap and will mark as a gift to avoid import fees https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/274801428002?hash=item3ffb710622:g:GcUAAOSwbdJgpeos

amazing , had no idea about this, they should really have made it a 2 disc release to include those other tracks.

Hah sadly it might be a while, I have a friend in Japan who I have it all sent to and then he sends it to me in UK when I have a big box full, might be a couple of months given his tardiness. I might have to pick up some of those Chick Corea shm-cds as well to fill up the box

I’ve never actually bought from Merurido, I know they don’t ship abroad though. Probably easier to use Amazon or HMV tbh
-
Mine were shipped from Amazon.jp yesterday, the next batch are already for sale on there too. Well
-
they are up for sale on Amazon.Jp, i find that certain releases seem to be more available from specific sites in Japan weirdly, often either in HMV.jp or Amazon.jp but not both.

More series coming in May, 6 & 7 https://merurido.jp/topic.php?srcbnr=47732 https://merurido.jp/topic.php?srcbnr=47734 Of interest seem to be first cd appearance for Mal Waldron's Mingus Lives from 1979,
-
https://merurido.jp/topic.php?srcbnr=47429 A few interesting things on there that havn't been on CD in their original format, Circling In & Circulus, not sure if the material has appeared elsewhere on cd though?
-
Hah i just ordered this not realising i already had that track on that compilation, it really is a great version of The Creators, totally different to the version on Now! Would love to hear more from that set. The version of Nardis on this album is excellent too so still glad i bought this.

https://jazzinbritain1.bandcamp.com/album/black-white-raga Has anyone else picked this up yet, def recommended if you are into the whole Don Rendell/Ian Carr 60s material Two sessions previously assumed either lost or unrecorded, by Henry Lowther’s and Lyn Dobson’s mid-sixties groups. Considered one of the missing links in the development of British free-form jazz. The Group Sounds Four session includes Jack Bruce, who contributes an original composition never otherwise recorded. Also features Ron Rubin, Ken McCarthy and Jon Hiseman. With comprehensive notes by Duncan Heining concerning the historical significance of these recordings. Single CD with liner notes by Duncan Heining. Strictly limited pressing run of 500 copies worldwide. Released: 29th December 2020 EAN: 5060774190128 Product no: JIB-14-M-CD 1. Softly, As In A Morning Sunrise (Romberg-Hammerstein) 7:07 2. Snow (Bruce) 5:01 3. Straight Away (Dobson) 11:34 4. The Red Planet (Coltrane) 5:20 5. Night & Day (Porter) 5:46 6. Celebrity Stomp (McCarthy) 3:55 7. Black And White Raga (Taylor) 11:23 Tracks 1-3: Group Sounds Four BBC Jazz Club, pre-recorded live on 13th June 1966, broadcast 19th June 1966. mine was shipped from Amazon.jp today I hope they do something similar with the Wave project (Peacock, Satoh & Togashi) from the 1980s, those three albums are long out of print and are excellent! https://www.discogs.com/Masahiko-Togashi-Gary-Peacock-Masahiko-Satoh-Wave/release/2895605
-
Maybe you got it in before the Brexit debacle happened, mines probably in some sack in France delayed by all the inevitable red tape!
-
Yeah, I ordered around the same time, also via eBay and still not arrived here to UK either, usually their delivery is v efficient.
-
This looks pretty interesting, i did like this trio of Gary Peacock, Masabumi Kikuchi & Motohiko Hino, not cheap though! 芽瑠璃堂 > GREAT 3 『コンプリート・セッシッョンズ 1994 (4CD)』KKJ9006-09 (merurido.jp)

Has anyone picked up this new version of this 1973 show, wondered how it is https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B08F6RYGJT/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_3?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&psc=1 I know it’s been out before but Hi Hat have done some decent Miles shows before so thinking it might be an upgrade, supposedly remastered but then they all say that don’t they!

next batch due in Oct, some more first time on CD like the Terumasa Hino, Peter Warren one https://merurido.jp/topic.php?srcbnr=43143
