  1. They did this in the last Extravaganza batch too when the Ric Colbeck & Maichael Navra ones were pulled at last minute Very strange why this happens, is the licensing left to the very last minute or something!?
  2. The same thing happened with a couple of the releases from the last Extravaganza series, very strange!
  3. Posted about it a while back Along with some other seemingly random releases like chick corea's the sun, Randy Weston and ernest Ranglin,, imagine they will be the same as the Extravaganza series that came out last year. I'd love to know how or who chooses what comes out in these series!
  4. Looks likes these are finally getting cd reissues for first time I think (?) Both are listed as mini LP SHMs coming out on Nov 30th on HMV.jp. I know the Chick, how is the Marion?
  5. Here's what they look like, I have seen better OBI's. http://merurido.jp/topic.php?srcbnr=9069
  6. Was hoping to to pick up his early Savoy albums and wondered which are the best to get, there are numerous budget compilations like this out there https://www.discogs.com/Yusef-Lateef-The-Complete-Recordings-1957-1959/release/7464629 but obviously packaging is poor and not sure about mastering etc. Am amazed at the lack of any Japanese reissues of this material or indeed a lot of his later stuff, bar eastern sounds, Before Dawn and Gentle Giant he seems to have been totally ignored, any reasons why? cheers
  7. Looks like some of the big Prestige releases are getting the plantinum shm paper sleeve treatment too! http://merurido.jp/topic.php?srcbnr=9484
  8. Looks like this is getting reissued on cd for first time in Japan soon, must admit I havn't heard it, but any Marion is good by me. http://merurido.jp/item.php?ky=CDSOL6440

  10. By the look of the cat no it's Solid Records who put out a lot of Enja stuff recently, I looked at other similar cat nos and the only other two coming out on same date are a Bill Evans live 66 and a live 80 album? l would love First Encounter to be reissued too!

  13. I see that Voices, Eastwards & Paysages came out on mini LP SACD hybrids a few years back, has anyone heard those? apart from the packaging is there anymore noticible benefit in shelling out for those?
  14. Were they on different labels? I wish they had brought them out as mini LPs because the original gatefolds look really nice! Any other recomendations? The only other thing I have is Sadao Watanbe's Paysages.
  15. My pleasure, there were SHMs of some/all of these back in 2009 so I guess it's the same mastering, plus those all seem to be pretty pricey these days http://www.discogs.com/label/801454-JAZZ-THE-BEST-日本ジャズヒストリー
  16. As a fairly recent convert to Japanese jazz this series in tribute to the late Masabumi Kikuchi is most welcome, I discovered him through the work he did with Gary Peacock, Voices & Eastwards. the Joe Henderson is wonderful, somehow had never heard that one. v affordable too, though the series name is a tad unfortunate! http://www.discogs.com/label/909924-We-Remember-Poo
