I have quite a few albums loaded on my phone. Plus, the apartment that we rented has wireless / internet connectivity, so I also can stream music from the "cloud."
We're in Quito, Ecuador (not Peru) though. 😉
Ellington band members did the same thing when Dizzy Gillespie was in the band for a minute. Per Diz, guys in the trumpet section were very "territorial" about their parts.
I bet the band vets thought Diz was an upstart whippersnapper -- just like they did with Elvin.
Now:
Jaki Byard - There'll Be Some Changes Made (Muse)
First listen of a new-to-me LP. No surprise: Byard is magnificent.
Earlier:
Richard "Groove" Holmes - Jazz Milestones Series (Pacific Jazz)
My LP is actually mono, not stereo.
More Sir Roland:
Roland Hanna & George Mraz - Sir Elf Plus One (Choice)
Desert-island music.
Incidentally, this CD has MUCH improved sound quality compared to the original LP issue, which was very rough. Plus two bonus tracks.
Roland Hanna Trio - Time for the Dancers (Progressive)
with George Mraz (b) and Richard Pratt (d)
There are other pianists who I enjoy as much as Roland Hanna -- but there are none who I enjoy more.
