  1. Yeah. I've been amazed at how well the Saints have played this year. After they opened the season 0-2, I'd written them off. Big mistake. I'm not surprised that the offense has been so prolific -- with Drew Brees and those two RBs. It's their defense that's been so shocking. Their D has been historically bad over the last few years. But not this year. I don't see the Falcons winning unless they can put up 32 points or more. That's a tall order.
  2. After work tonight, I'm walking down the street to see the Falcons vs. the Saints in the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium. If the Falcons don't win tonight, their already slim chances of making the playoffs will be O-V-E-R.
  3. That's a desert-island disc for me. (More for the Fourth Symphony than the First, but they're both great.)
  4. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
  5. Anita O'Day - Recorded Live at the Berlin Jazz Festival (MPS) with George Arvanitas, Jacky Samson, and Charles Saudrais
  6. Thanks for the heads-up, Late. I'll be ordering Groove Holmes' Onsaya Joy.
  7. Gorgeous. One of Buster's best, IMO.
  8. Cal Tjader ‎- Live at the Funky Quarters (Fantasy, 1972) Cal Tjader (vib, perc); Al Zulaica (el p); John Heard (b); Dick Berk (d); Michael Smithe (congas) as reissued on:
  9. Is 2015 "newish"? If so . . . I also really like Gary Versace's playing on this CD from 2011:
  10. Such a GREAT record, one of the best from the latter part of Farmer's career -- IMO.
  11. I don't think this terrific LP has ever been available in any digital format: Yes. McPherson's New Horizons deserves to be reissued as well.
  12. More RRK: Transcendent, kaleidoscopic, audacious.
  13. Roland Kirk - Left & Right (Atlantic)
  14. I think that's a wonderful record. NP:
  15. R.I.P. Mundell Lowe
