2005 NBA Championship

The Spurs are far from "sorry." That triad of Duncan, Ginobili, and Parker are impossible to stop. They're a great team; and it looks like they will become the new NBA champions. If only the Pistons didn't waste that draft pick on Danko... -
He's on a lot of Duke Pearson sessions as well.

Looks like the Pistons are done. I can't see them winning this series. -
Welcome to the shit-world of boxing. That's one reason why I can't stand watching it. The other reason I avoid it, is due to the brutality.

Congratulations on the new one, Greg. And born in America too!

My sleep habits are atrocious. I probably average six hours of sleep. It's almost impossible to get any more. My cats start jumping on me at 6:30 to 7:00 every morning. I don't need an alarm clock.

2005 NBA Championship

I agree -- the Pistons probably wouldn't have won the Heat series without Wade's injury. If they can induce a Duncan injury, they might have a decent chance of winning another title. Guy ← Boo Hoo, Boo Hoo, waa, waaaaa, You guys need to quit crying about injuries, it happens to every team in every sport; not just your team that lost. Remember Rip had a nagging injury the first four games. Watch ESPN sometimes, the classic NBA games and you will see teams winning WITH injured important players. so just stop the "if so and so wasn't hurt, we woulda won. All that woulda, shoulda, coulda stuff is very very OLD. Bruce, I'm not complaining -- just stating the facts. Guy ← Not sure I agree here, Guy. You are normally a paragon of rationality, and perhaps you are using it here as well, but it is difficult to make such a claim as this. I suspect the Pistons would have defeated the Heat even with a fully healthy Wade. Of course we will never know; and history will never care. -

Gotta go with the champs, but in truth, I really don't know enough about the Spurs to make an accurate prediction. I like the Pistons since they are a "hometown" team for us here in Toledo, but I'm not a huge NBA fan. Are you ready for some football? -

I think that just about sums it up. ...so no need to flash my ass. -

Evan, you got to be used to defeat with your sports teams now... I predicted Billups would have a big game. He didn't have quite as big of a game as I had expected, but every free throw at the end was a dagger. Flash my ass. The kid picked up some valuable experience. He'll be tougher next year, but he wasn't ready just yet. Another year older for Shaq, who's getting used to playoff defeats... Anyway, hats off to the Heat, who gave the Pistons everything. They might even have won the series if SS1 hadn't been betting on them.... -

Overall, a good record. But he's going downhill (1-1 in 2003 and 3-1 in 2004.) Toss 2005 stats out the window so far as meaningless. It's the final two series which mean anything. You can count a series victory over Washington if you like, but it proves nothing. My prediction this evening is the Pistons will win. I think they've got the experience. Of course, it doesn't hurt that Wade is injured and plays impaired. Keep your eye on Billups tonight. He's gonna be the man. (Tayshaun is always the man.) -

Books on the historical Jesus?

The Bible as History by Werner Keller is a classic, although there is no focus on Jesus Christ. I like Will Durant's assessment of Christianity and Judaism and the Bible in his History of Civilization series. -

Of course, if the best player in this series isn't playing tomorrow then the Pistons will win game 7. Guy ← It's a team sport, Guy. One guy alone means nothing. That's what makes the Pistons so tough. And, by the way, Shaq is the best player on either team... -

Heat scored 66 points last night (going by memory.) Is this the team that will beat the Pistons in game 7? Advantage: Pistons. -

Look me up, Jim, when you stop by. You got my phone number? If not, pm me. -
I'm considering picking up the Parlan Mosaic. Problem is that it doesn't offer me anything new. I've got all the dates already. Are you guys interested in any of the following. Price would be $15 with postage included. "Speakin' My Piece" JRVG "Headin' South" TOCJ (reserved for someone) "Movin' and Groovin' TOCJ "Up and Down" TOCJ "Happy Frame of Mind" TOCJ (my personal favorite of the bunch) The other two are domestic Conns and you guys probably already have them. pm me to reserve a copy. If I get interest on 3 or 4 of them, I might just do it. Thanks,
