  1. I didn't notice Jassmoose's "Forbidden threads" when I started this one. I guess we had similar concerns, but it should have been kept to a single thread.
  2. It's more than that, Weizy. I didn't like the way the Art Pepper Mosaic Select thread was so unceremoniously shut down. I thought that although there was some pique displayed on both sides of the argument, there was also some cogent discussion going on. I'm actually more pissed about that quick and capricious moderation than I am on what happened to Allen. The Art Pepper Mosaic Select sale thread was locked because the seller wanted to close the sale. He requested that you close it?

  4. Why is it that at least one of the moderators is so quick to lock up a thread? Can't we have discussions any more? Talk about abuse of authority! I'm close to quitting this place, and I would if I didn't use the buying/looking for thread to sell stuff. Plus I want to keep up with some friends. But this board is about bad vibes right now. I'm a little steamed right now.
  5. I always add the items I am interested in purchasing into my watch list. I lose buyer's interest over a 10-day auction. It's a psychological thing. When you first view a desired item on ebay, an emotional thrill is there; as the auction lingers day after day, the emotion wanes. Sales people are taught to close the sale as soon as possible, while the emotional element is strong. Every extra day that an item lingers for sale weakens a buyer's interest. That's just how human's work. The purchase impulse weakens. A lengthy listing weakens a buyer's sense of urgency. I don't see why this is difficult for some people to understand. As a seller, my best sales have occured with three-day listings.
  6. Thanks for cheering me up! It's reality. Although Mosaic sets maintain their value for the most part, cd prices are plummeting everywhere.
  7. I also believe that Sunday evening is the best time to end auctions, but buyers hate the 10 day auction. I usually set my auctions to end within three to five days. Buyers lose focus over a long period of time. I'm sure that this advice just adds to your confusion. So you were the lucky person! I had that on my watch list but it went on for too long and I lost focus as to when it was supposed to end. This is why I recommend that people shorten the time spans on their auctions. Everybody loves to talk about the high prices for Mosaic sets on ebay. There are actually many good deals to be had on Mosaic sets. A Grant Green set recently sold for $117.00, I think. The economy is still depressed.
  8. Happy Birthday Mark. I look forward to our teams facing each other again this NFL season.
  9. I am a frequent buyer and seller on this forum: perhaps more of a seller. Please feel free to jump on me if I offer a price which is too hefty. The feedback is important. I'm serious. Mike should be free to state his opinion, as is Dr. J. Sheesh, guys. Lighten up!
  10. Sorry 'bout that. The thread got buried rather deep, and I assumed people had given up on it. I'll keep you in mind when I get something else good.
  11. I have a second copy of this hard to find greasy classic. CD is in excellent condition, but it's missing the back cd liner. The cover and front liner is intact, but maybe the previous owner had swapped cd cases and forgot to include the rear liner with the track listing. The track listing is included in the front liner. $10.00 shipping included to US addresses paypal pleeze!
  12. Teams don't cough up draft picks so easy any more. The Pats could only get a 2nd rounder for a promising young qb, Matt Cassell. McNabb's contract has a year remaining. There are no guarantees that he will stay. I think the Eagles got a good deal. There's a fourth and fifth rounder included as well. Consensus has it that it's a deep draft pool this year.
  13. Glad to hear about the positive prognosis and likely full recovery.
  14. I always good deep discounts to Amazon pricing. Used cds are hard to sell and you have to discount, otherwise, you won't turn them over.
  15. Who made this prediction? You or your trombone?
  16. Interesting list. Tony Romo and Wes Welker were both undrafted, as was Jeff Saturday of the Colts.
  17. Why the negativity? Just skip the thread if you're not interested... It's okay, Hans. I appreciate reading what people think and don't need sugarcoated posts. I appreciate the thoughts, Mike, and Hans. Big thumbs up on this set, Rooster. Onzy's music doesn't get the press that it deserves. I like this set. Shall I repeat?
  18. Another job well done by Dickblocker V.2.5 Seriously, it worked fine for me. Looking forward to the disc! Just came across this post.
  19. Bill Evans Complete Fantasy also at $49.99. I ordered it. I just picked this one up as well. I think there are fewer of these around than the Complete Fantasy. I had to select between one of these box sets, and decided to go with Consecration. Can't afford both! Plus I think the Fantasy box went for $29.99 from the same seller some months back.
