  1. Thank you so much Rob/Neon... always glad when sanity prevails!
  2. I'm quite grateful for Norah, actually, always felt her success makes it easier for me to get the BN reissues I want... and perhaps she sometimes serves as a gateway to more jazz... more power to ya, Norah, and I plan on buying Come Away with Me on SACD! As for musicboy, I haven't seen or heard that much sanctimony all year! DOJ? This is the best-mannered of the jazz sites on the web! Ha! Peace, joy, and love to ye of all faiths...
  3. Way way way too hard to choose here! All of them have helped deplete my bank account from time to time...
  4. Having received the latest Mosaic catalog, I'm debating purchasing 2 Mosaic sets: 1) Complete Donald Byrd/Pepper Adams studio sessions. 2) Complete Lou Donaldson 1957-1960. I have all but two of the albums in the first one, and all but one in the second. Nonetheless, I'd consider buying them if the sound quality is better than the JRVG's and TOJC's that I have comprising most of this stuff now. And I remember a lot of the names from the old BNBB, so I trust ya! Any comments, pro or con, would be greatly appreciated!
  5. All good suggestions, and if you can find it, pick up Never Let Me Go as well.. actually that will be a JRVG later this year B)
  6. The Johnny Hodges and Wild Bill Davis albums with Grant Green on guitar, Joe's Blues and Wings and Things. also.. Andrew Hill - Andrew! This assuming that the Mosaic Select for John Patton comes out this year, for "That Certain Feeling".
  7. I got the Got A Good Thing Goin' Rare Groove, though I already had a TOJC... actually I think they both sound pretty good... may give one copy to my girlfriend for enjoyment and a nice title for a happy relationship! I also bought Sweet Revival and The Final Comedown from Dusty Groove - their writeups are indeed hilarious! Impressions so far... I like Sweet Revival, though it's pretty far removed from the classic Blue Note Sounds, it's a lot of fun. The Final Comedown is only OK - just not much Grant to hear on the CD. Also worlds away from Idle Moments, etc.. Would really like to see Say it Loud reissued as rare grovve - and my longstanding wish for That Certain Feelin' will be resolved once the Mosaic Select comes out!
