Quincy, It's true he won't find that kind of money, but to cut a guy's salary by 25%, when likely no other manager could get a team to come back from as far down as they were(I am sure you remember, they lost almost all their starters early on, doesn't matter how big your budget is if you haven't any healthy guys) is an insult. Not like the team came in 3rd. Acting like he can make the same money, IF they get thru all rounds, nope...insulting. Hey, Andruw Jones thinks he is going to get a 5-6 Million dollar raise after hitting around .220....Torre had a much better year. Feel sorry for him, and I really hope that the Yankees have a .500 season next year after losing Jorge, A-Rod and Mariano...... You can't give a manager credit for bringing a team back, when it's the same manager that had the bad start. Do you think the Rockie's have great manager for winning 20 of the last 21 games? Is he now worth 5 million? It's the players. There are plenty, yes plenty of guys who would be willing to manage the Yankees. Girardi had a great year managing the Marlins and he was sacked the next year. I'm sure he'd take 2 million or less and coach the Yankees. A 25% salary cut isn't much, when you consider he was making more than 100% more than any other coach. A 5 million offer was still alot more than other managers get in the same world.

Secondhand LPs in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale Area?
Tjazz replied to Teasing the Korean's topic in The Vinyl Frontier
Has anyone been to CD Collector in Pompano lately? It's a tiny shop. -
Costco was selling the box set (8 discs) for $100. I think you can find it slightly cheaper online at other retailers.
-
I can't recall seeing any music stores. There are bootleg DVDs for about a dollar. Be sure your wife carries her own toliet paper.

Since he had a box of porn, maybe his wife thought he had a gun in his pocket. She shot him in self-defense.

Tjazz replied to Jazztropic's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...

why do we collect all this music?
Tjazz replied to alocispepraluger102's topic in Miscellaneous Music
I've overheard some record store owners talk of their customers as addicts. The owners would talk about how they gave up collecting and only SELL. If they were to pick-out the gems, the customers wouldn't get anything. -
You can always buy CDs from the Eagles website. Or just borrow it from the library and save world.

Looks like CD Collector also goes by another name - Radio-Active Records. Radio Active Records In fact, the sign has been replaced with Radio-Active Records. -
Secondhand LPs in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale Area?
Tjazz replied to Teasing the Korean's topic in The Vinyl Frontier
YES. The backroom has Lps. Not sure if they really have MORE LPs. Just more space. I use to find odd jazz CDs there, they don't seem to stock as much jazz now. This is one of the few places that sells NEW LPs. -

CD Collector 1930 E Sunrise Blvd # B Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304 (954) 762-9488 Inside the Gateway shopping center (strip mall) I just picked up the Hamiett Bluiett clarinet LP. -
I see these on Lone Hill Jazz. Is that the same as Andorrans? Best prices seen at Tower.com Buddy Defranco from Tower.com
-
I picked up some Buddy Defranco (Lone Hill Jazz) re-issues from Tower.com at pretty good prices with free shipping. Buddy Defranco from Tower.com

12 early titles re-issued on Hip-o.

Has anybody heard this LP? Just saw it a record store. Don Byron and Buddy Collette also play on the record (besides 7 other guys). Funny, Allmusic shows the total recording time is 62:46. Didn't know that there were LPs with such long playing times. Thought the longest playing times for LPs were about 45 minutes.

For BMG customers, use the 65% off with free shipping and Bopland is $12.24. L7P1
-
I wouldn't always discount Mosaic. They probably couldn't get the license from Verve. Do you know if Andorrans paid any licensing fees? Seems like alot of European re-issues are under different copyright laws. (I'd buy any Buddy Defranco re-issues too)

BOPland (3CD) is available thru BMG for $12.24 with this code L7P1 (not sure when this code expires). 65% off with free shipping.
