  1. Evan, Moose already has Hamilton and 45. Try again! I'll sell my pick for a toonie...
  2. I was expecting a drum machine that realized it didn't have a chance with the singer...
  3. Senator Johnny Fergus Max Frost Stanley X
  4. Oh, heck yes! I never started one before the playoffs because I figured no one was interested. Yeah, the west is on fire this year, the only eastern team to do much against the west has been Tampa Bay. I have a feeling losing Stamkos is going to put a stop to that, though. They went down to my Sharks 5-1 tonight.
  5. Oops; forgot it was Thursday. I would have picked NO if it's not too late. I mean, I'm a Falcons fan, right? I'd know not to pick them.
  6. Adi Da Kevin Drum Slow Lee http://www.reverbnation.com/slowlee I know; I have no shame.
  7. Shaped the way of thinking of many Brits? How do you think we felt; we didn't have The Goon Show, or At Last the !948 show or such in preparation. First thing I know, I'm staring at a Scotsman on a horse wondering what the hell was going on.
  8. Joey Bishop Queen Latifah King Vidor
  9. I agree. As in most polls, the actual takeaway should be "Americans say" not "Americans do". On the other hand, medications have forced me to join the rarely or never crowd myself. (Of course, anyone who knows me would chime in "yeah, but that wasn't the Bud you had trouble with!"
  10. Who has anyone played? Seriously, who looks like the class of the NFL right now? I suppose Denver looks like the best in the league, but they certainly aren't a great team, and of course, are one bad sack away from mediocrity. The whole league looks like a bunch of bums to me.

  12. Tiger-Cats in a shocker, 45.
  13. Bert Lance Ernie Pyle Jim Henson
  14. I started dealing at cons in the mid-eighties and then made the mistake of opening a store in '91. I managed to start turning a profit fairly quickly, but could never get it large enough to live on. Ended up selling off my personal collection trying to keep the shop open. It kind of turned comics into a bittersweet thing at best for me.
  15. Bummer. I used to own a comic book shop; now I wouldn't even know where to find one! But congratulations!
  16. Glad to hear she's home already. Life sure knows how to throw a curve ball in there...
  17. Another 'new' writer for me in my return to SF. I've only read Snow Crash so far, though The Diamond Age is on the 'ready' shelf.
  18. Last year I read his most recent SF novel 2312. The man is just not such a good writer as all the acclaim would lead you to believe. I'd read the first two Mars books while in high school and wanted to get into SF again. I shouldn't have bothered with mr. Robinson. What a letdown. I'm glad it's not just me. With his reputation, I was expected a classic. It's certainly not what I got.
  19. I'm doing something I swore I'd never do again: struggling to finish a book I'm not enjoying. The book is Blue Mars by Kim Stanley Robinson, and while he held my attention through the first two books, this one is wearing me down. One problem is that most of the characters, while well done, are thoroughly unlikable. I know this is an award winner, but I really can't recommend it.
  20. Aw, come on, Tim; you were doing so well ignoring him!
  21. Red Sonja Red Buttons Warren Beatty
  22. But not that one...
  23. Sometimes I wish we had that 'thumbs up' feature on here, but only on this thread. Jack Napier Edward Nigma Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot
  24. Wake up, guys; flip a coin or something-one of them is going to win today!
