Holy jumpin' shit... Uh...no more posts from me for a bit; just had my music genes switched on! (I knew there was a reason to listen to recommendations from you people! )

Do yourself a favor and grab Nation Time and listen to "Shakey Jake" immediately. No shit. Well, okay...see everyone later!
  3. Oh, yeah! Unfortunately (for me), a recent discovery in my case. On the other hand, it's always hard to complain about being exposed to good stuff for the first time..
  4. "Police told the paper he had a history of mental problems." Gee..ya think?
  5. Oops; my mistake...I must have copied the link wrong from PFunk's PM...

Wow...this reminds me-I have both Nation Time and Tenor & Fallen Angels and have never listened to either. This is what happens when you read posts and get excited about something and the stuff starts building up on your shelves; let this be a warning to you all!!
  7. "Of course, we'll probably have to settle for bucks from the moronic fools we normally pull in with our twaddle, but what the hell", he continued...
  8. Well no wonder he wasn't popular in the 40's!
  9. True. And the one time I remember this happening here, the guy didn't get the usual beating about the head and shoulders. Heck, we're smart enough to tell the difference between a traveling salesman and someone trying to find homes for their unwanted jazz collection.
  10. Well, sure...let's see you go post on the "how big is yours" thread with a rented file...
  11. Personally, I like the way things are now. I don't see the need for more rules. And if someone can't see the inherent tackiness of walking into a joint and setting up shop first thing without at least saying hi or buying a beer, well, what's wrong with a little ugliness?
  12. Cancel that; I was listening over my wife's shoulder...it was her darned CD drive... Okay; I think I'll stick with Feurio for now. Thanks to riverrat for the timely thread and PeteB for the suggestion! It's so nice to be able to do this finally...
  13. Yeah, the Feurio does. Unfortunately, I'm having trouble, I'm assuming with the driver for the burner...I managed to get a disc of ballads burned for my wife, but it almost sounds in places like it came from a badly tuned FM station...
  14. I've been trying to use Dell Jukebox, but I'm so sick of it hanging up I'll try one of the others mentioned here...
  15. You know, this thread didn't make a bit of sense until I realized I was thinking "Johnny Lydon" whenever you guys typed "Johnny Lytle"...
  16. No kidding. I camembert a thread this bad in my life.
  17. "Just as Jim makes funny noises when held underwater for five minutes, this cute puppy..."
  18. FatboyHonkie'sSaltySnackHouseofPorn.com
  19. Sorry, Soul Stream; I hit the sack early last night...
  20. I can sympathize. I remember the first one of these I saw, Fred Astaire dancing with a vacuum cleaner a few years back. My reaction was total shock and a "I'll never buy that thing!" It is tacky.
  21. I know that Reynold's singing was actually done by someone else in Singing in the Rain, but I'll be damned if I can remember who did the actual singing...
  22. Maybe it's just my imagination, but isn't that hostess at the beginning the same actress that was later Aunt Harriet or whoever on the Batman television series? Rooster, I'll add my recommendation to the others. Admittedly, I like the old musicals, but this is, if not THE best, definitely near the top of the list! (And yes, Cyd Charrise is worth the price of admission, even if she's only in one number!)
  23. Go to a pet supply store and rent a small animal trap. They'll tell you how to use it.
  24. You gotta love that manic stunt by the Lemmings Gymnastic Team, though...
