  5. There's a classic. I listening to Eno and screwing around with my 4-track making ambient music when I read a review of this album in the NY Times. I didn't know there was an underground ambient scene at the time!

  7. Yes, that tune Jet Sex is very cool. The guys in TONTO were hot shot studio synth programmers who worked with Stevie Wonder. I think they did a Steve Hillage album too. I have the CD somewhere...
  8. I love this stuff. Robert Rich has some nice stuff...I'm not familiar with a lot of it, because there's so much. Some Fax label is ambient..most of it out of print. Bill Laswell had some good uns. Eno too. more later... dB

    There's an interview out there (AAJ?) where Ward discusses his Jazz influences. One on of the Deep Purple DVDs (I'll look later) Paice is playing with a big band horn section. dB
  10. you know, that's the thing with meds. different people have such widely different reactions, so you can never be sure. My reaction scared me away from them. I ain't no guinea pig.

    Oh yeah! His passing reminds me how jazz influenced that generation of rock drummers was. Ian Paice and Bill Ward come to mind. dB

  19. I used a Boss RC-20 for a lot of years. Terrible sound quality but very useful as a practice tool. I have one, but I didn't use it much. Yes, terrible sound quality.

    more Natural causes...I always thought that with the Exp, he was amazing (thinking of the studio recordings). He brought a special kind of Jazz drumming into Rock. Truly a sad day.
  22. I haven't bee to the Empire bldg. since I was a kid, but I'm sure it's a cool view. I wonder if I see my building from there... But the photo of you in front of the VV is real cool. I don't know how many times I've walked down that sidewalk.
