  1. A lot of interesting composers on this label. They went under and New World Records took over their catalog a few years ago.
  2. ...I didn't post it but would have no idea that is where the image came from? How did you know? I'm sure JS meant no harm! m~ I didn't even know until they said something. You can look at the image properties and see the url. Win XP users right click on the image and select properties.
  3. http://www.ronpatrickstuff.com/
  4. There's a bunch of ECM discs recorded in a monastery. I think there's at least a Paul Bley and Paul Motian.
  5. RIP, passed away on Jan. 3, 2008. Wiki
  6. I'm sorry to hear about this.
  7. uh...that didn't work out too well.
  8. That was the very first rock concert I ever went to! They were opening for ZZ Top. I'm pretty sure it was '74. That tune was on the radio so much, everyone was sick of them before they even hit the stage.
  9. Not too bad when the wind isn't blowing. 23 right now, going down to 17 tonight.
  10. Happy Birthday Marty! Listen to tunes!
  11. Dude...why do you think she worked there for so long?
  12. 10:30 am, 16 degrees outside.
  13. I didn't know Ives said that, but it sounds like him.
  14. I think Ives addressed the issue many times. Very quotable.
  15. I seem to remember Peter posting something of the same nature in the What "classical" music are you listening to right now? thread a while ago but no one took the bait. Like Clem, I'd to see Peter name some names.
  16. I hear you loud and clear, you're just using this poorly edited (I think that's why his comment doesn't make any sense in that context) review of a New Year's Eve concert to make your point. No one's forcing you to listen to anything you don't want to listen to. If you don't like the subscription series, don't subscribe. By the way, that Bolero is such an intimidating piece of music isn't it? It's a travesty they play this for children in schools. There should be a law to prevent children from being exposed to such mayhem. My panties get all knotted up just thinking about it.
  17. Wynton.
  18. Time for Rick to go to a meeting. He has to admit he's powerless over food — that his live has become unmanageable.
  19. Here's the entire article. Read into it what you will Peter, but I don't see anything about a subscription series in that review. Saint-Saëns’s Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso is dated 1863. How does the 20th Century fit into a discussion of this piece?
  20. I may have listened to more of the boots that I downloaded off the net in '07. I copied most of them off of my machine last week and found a bunch I've been listening to.
