  1. I pretty much would echo Maren's recommendations. I would also include Jerry Jemmont on the short list. ← Jerry Jemmott used to advertise as a teacher in the Village Voice -- anyone know if he's still around? ← Seems like he's still around. Have a closer look and prove me wrong... Since I enjoy my fretless more than the fretted bass, I was really into getting up to date with Percy Jones last Winter. He's more of a prog-rock fusion guy, but I love the way he slides around. Any thoughts on Percy, Maren? And I heard Curlew with Ann. Now there's another crazy prog-rock bassist!
  2. I hope everybody had a good one. I just got back from dinner at my parents, but yesterday I gave my Dad a ride to White Plains, NY - about an hour and a half North of here. He's 76 and since his heart opperation two years ago and cancer surgery four years ago, not only is he still not 100%, but probably never will be. Problems seeing, standing for long periods of time and so on. Good thing I drove, he knew the way there and the address, but not know where the exact address was in town. If it wasn't last minute, I would have MapQuest'ed it. Woulda...shoulda...we found it. He had a meeting with a historical research group and publishes papers in these little booklets. While they were meeting, I walked around town for a few hours and when I got back I had a seat downstairs until they were done. Turns out they had him read his paper and he was very happy how everything turned out after months of hard work. Plus he was exhausted from all the standing and talking. It would have been a dangerous drive home. At last count he's thanked me about eight times and my Mother has rang up four or five thank yous. Priceless.
  3. Welcome to town.
  4. I do, but I don't really play bass with other people too often. I mostly play guitar. They are very different beasts.
  5. That's part of the situation, I've heard his soundscapes many times over the years. He seems like a pretty healthy guy, there should be another tour someday. I went to a lot of the soundscape shows at the World Financial Center.
  6. Good for you! I'm not going to see Fripp Soundscapes in Philly tonight or NYC next Thursday. Too busy with other stuff.

  16. Only because he bought himself out of any. He wasn't exactly exonerated last time out... as the judge acknowledged by allowing previous behavior to be used to establish a pattern of behaviour. I've had it wrong all this time. Jackson isn't made of plastic... it's TEFLON. NOTHING sticks to this MF! ← He's the Teflon Pedophile.
  17. Ok now.
  18. same here. a cookie issue maybe? the page looks complete.
  19. Sweet.
  20. And, speaking as someone who poses as an antlered mammal on the internet, I think that's a good thing! ← But those are virtual antlers! They're not?
