  1. Well timed with the movie coming out.
  2. Do you mean singing a dozen notes where one would be fine for a single syllable? That's called melisma. And yes, they're over doing it.
  3. Earlier this morning I read the four part article on Scientology on Salon.com. Pretty interesting stuff. Pretty wacky stuff - not just the aliens, but their stance on medicine is pretty scary.

If you don't already have it, you should check out 8 Standards (wesleyan) 2001. It's the same band as on 20/23 Standards. I imagine you would like it just fine. I got that one after hearing 23. Fits right in. I like him. He's cool, it works.
  8. Check out the Llama... ← is those *under* the bear??? ← It's the bit between Chris Restaurant and the humpin' bunnys.

I'll add that before 20/23 Standards, I didn't really like Braxton doing standards. Now I want to get a copy of Nine Compositions (Hill) 2000.

7/4, you are a saint, obviously. I've never made it all the way through Trillium R. His attempts at Minimalism leave me me wondering "what the hell is he thinking?" and I have plenty of experience with the best Minimalism in the man made world. I lost touch during the Ghost Trance years, eventually I got it, but there's a bit I haven't heard. I don't remember getting all the way through For Four Orchestras [Composition 82], I should try again this Summer. Same for Trillium R.

I'm just about done with my first listen to 20 Standards (Quartet) 2003, I just got my copy two days ago. I think I like it even better than 23 Standards, maybe I'm more familiar with the selection of tunes.
