  1. I knew that about the club, but I hope CT is OK. Crap.
  2. I read in an article someplace - don't ask me where - that there is way to tell the correct speed by some sort of an electrical hum on the records. Cool....check the 60 cycle hum! Hmmm...are you sure it would be a 60 cycle hum? I remember the province of Ontario was still on 25 cycle power until the early 1950s, and that could have been the standard when/where the Johnson stuff was recorded. And even then, the cycling of AC power wasn't always exact, so you can't count on that 100% as the reference. I can't be sure because I'm not working on the mastering.
  3. I own Lather! Those are the better mixes.
  4. After a lifetime of being a tea drinker, a few years ago I started drinking coffee. black, no sugar!

  8. Don't think so. I'm pretty sure he did arrangements himself. He did use people to transcribe solos for use as material for compositions and to copy parts (pre-computer typesetting days).
  9. that's right, everything is my fault, I make Allen Lowe write dumb shit...I control his brain.
  10. now we know why someone would want to assault Allen Lowe. he's always been like that.
  11. yank his chain again and see what happens!
  12. why would anybody do that to sweet Allen?
  13. Terry Riley rare footage, live in the 70s
  14. I used to see this guy every Wed. night in New Brunswick NJ with a fusion band until he started playing for Steve Morse.
  15. I heard a bit of that. They were playing Borbetomagus on Sat morning @5am when I was taking a trip to New Haven last week. It's interesting how that kind of noise and feedback sounds over the radio. It turns into something else (electronic music) when it's broadcast.
  16. I love it. Doesn't seem all that weird to me at this point, hasn't in years.

  18. ditto on the Morris/Braxton box!
  19. But I thought the piano didn't exist in Bach's time! Lemmie see, what do I like............. Piano music by La Monte Young (the Well Tuned Piano), Terry Riley, Debussy, Schoenberg, Ravel, Morton Feldman, Messiaen. John Cage's music for prepared piano. I've been getting more exposure to Beethoven's piano music, that's nice but not at the top of my list. edit to add Messiaen, Cage and Feldman.
