  1. For a fun record, find the Victoria Spivey album with Buddy Tate
  2. Well, the TV color scheme wore me out after a while. It was like being trapped in a 1982 New Wave album cover. But right now, I'm just enjoying watching and studying the basic mechanics of the game, regardless of format. There's a lot there, basic batting and bowling.
  3. Warren Spahn! That guy was a tenacious son of a gun. He'd win a lot, lose a lot, and always take the mound - and stayed there. What a great figure!
  4. Sorry. I've been watching Blake Snell no-hit the Reds. Much more exciting!!!
  5. A fan's labor of love, and it's none too bad, you're mighty well told.
  6. I've caught a few Hundred(s) matches on Willow (via Sky Sports) and I'm not yet ingrained in the sport enough to mind it one way or the other. Plus, the uniforms are more colorful (and so is the whole telecast), the stadiums are quite nice, and there's women's teams as well!
  7. Ok. I will jump on it. ,PM sent.
  8. The Unhinged Ed Nelson - Live At The Smokehouse!!!
  9. Making mine Dewey!
  10. What's your takeaway from this one? I actually don't mind the odd Kaempfert cut. I like that trumpet player, sort of a German Bobby Hackett vibe to him.
  11. Yeah, I found the album on YouTube (after querying Discogs by song title and looking at a buttload full of hits) and matched the cut exactly. I figured it was an older guy - or maybe even a really stealth smooth player - because of the way he worked his tone. Some people call it "worrying" a note, but this is more than that, it's more simply a vocalizing of the notes. It's not at all flat-lined - not only did the accents bob and weave, the tone does too. Personally, that what I look for in music of any kind, And this has it!
  12. Up for the Debbe.
  13. John Clay Bastrop - Sorry if I Forgot To Fuck You Last Night Talk about common experiences of the common man...
  14. Yep.
  15. A little sleuthing reveals that #1 is James Spaulding!
  16. Article about the plans for further developing professional cricket in America: https://frontofficesports.com/major-league-cricket-is-luring-the-worlds-top-stars-with-cash-and-connections/
  17. Dodgers vs Padres was a fun series to watch. Padres are getting chesty, with Manny Machado leading the way. Keep an eye on them the rest of the way, they might have something to say. Or not...
  18. She is. And she's not for me. Money saved!
