  1. It's just like posting an image, only you use this icon instead of this one And it seems to only work with YouTube videos, and then only if the link's not yet been used in the thread.
  2. That might be the best, but this is the greatest:
  3. some feature about some Jazz Federation. Didn't see any other people I recognized, but I saw Bertha Hope and I said to LTB, is that Bertha Hope, and yeah, it was Bertha Hope!
  4. No, the anticipation of breaking the silence is what makes music sexy. Breaking it is sex, breaking it really meaningfully is orgasm, and waiting for it to return so it can be broken again is post-orgasmic afterglow and beyond. Silence only has meaning relative to what breaks it. It's not an either/or thing, it's a yin/yang thing, complementary opposites compromising a single entity. Not knowing this, that's why jazz isn't cool any more. OTOH, if you don't want to make a baby and just want to get your nut, fucking the dead is pretty much a sure thing.
  5. You could often count on Donruss to have the most..."unique" photos of a player, and that was certainly one. Maddux looks like he's got a date to show up on Boardwalk Empire once he leaves the mound.
  6. Yeah, it's pretty much understood that his role will be that of roving pitching instructor/adviser/whatever. Don't know if he's a proven quantity as an instructor, knowing how to do something and being able to successfully communicate it to others is never a given, but you sure can't find fault with his pedigree. And he looks to be just the guy to coach The Dutchstache itself, as well as The player who wears it. Bonus points!
  7. Is the recently-departed Mr. Teagarden any relation to the long-departed Mr. Teagarden? I am still stoked about having Greg Maddux on board. Sure hope there's reason to be.
  8. The next best thing to relevancy.
  9. I am coming to like this album with Ware even more than the two with Stevie. More slink, and just as much think.
  10. Had cable, was not impressed. Now have FIOS/fiber-optic thru Verizon. Great performance, reasonable cost.
  11. Ware was not a bad singer, but my god could the man write and produce. This one just floats all over the place with a feigned hook and finally lands on the real hook, a super hook (played by Gary Bartz, and see kids, this is how you do it, and this is why a jazz was still cool in 1977, because it could both appreciate and be appreciated all at the same time all at once), and once it does...DAMN. "Genius" is too often overused (sic), and I'd not think to use it in regards to Ware, but "brilliant"? Yes, at times brilliant. I think this is one such case...so much sophisticated idiosyncrasy and detail all at once, not something you get all the time. And oh yeah, how 'bout Syreeta? Yeah!
  12. At times I feel as if I've been an unwitting volunteer for the CIA. At other times, though, I feel like I'm lucky to still be alive.
  13. Be careful what you ask for: http://gorightly.wordpress.com/2007/09/12/more-on-the-tuesday-weld-psychedelic-illuminati-conspiracy/
  14. Levine is staying. Excellent!
  15. I like for my manager to believe (and, ideally, know) that his players are better than anybody else, and that he knows how to get the best out of them. Whatever ego he then has about himself should always take a back seat to that, at least in the clubhouse. What is put forth for public consumption is another matter altogether.
  16. Try Greg Maddux.
  17. Greg Maddux reportedly joining the Rangers http://www.lonestarball.com/2011/11/29/2597127/greg-maddux-reportedly-joining-the-rangers Hopefully Thad Levine stays in the front office (odds are even at best on that, alas), but with CJ maybe going (but not yet gone), Feliz joining the rotation, and Holland/Harrison being looked to sit at the grown-ups table every time out no matter what, can one have too many Madduxes in one's organization to lend a helping hand to working with the arms? I think not! btw - I luvved me some Greg Maddux when he played (offense gets me in the bedroom, but pitching and defense get me to to the altar) ...I've never autograph-whored before, ever, but if the opportunity presents itself for a Greg Madduxgraph, all bets might be off.
  18. Green leafys with strong flavors in general!
  19. Kale is so damn good, and Chick-Fil-A is so damn stoopid. Although to give credit where it's due, they give you the best value on jumbo sodas in the mall. But kale, kale ROCKS.
  20. I think they're better, for the most part. Now, the post-Roulette Verves, that's another story..although one not without some interest.
  21. The Next Best Thing To
  22. The Next Best Thing To Blackness.
  23. And Ringo wouldn't have made it into 1970.
  24. The Next Best Thing To Blindness...
  25. Hawk's not really a "Christmas" kind of guy anyways. For that, you'd go more to Bud Freeman.
